Mujahedin Khalq; A proxy force

The MEK portrayed 9/11 as the American imperialism crumbling

The irony of Americans attending MEK conferences and supporting Maryam Rajavi and the NCRI.

Did you know that the MEK and especially it’s leadership, not only didn’t mourn the September 11, 2001 attacks on the Twin Towers, which took the lives of thousands of innocent Americans, but rather celebrated it. I know because I was in the MEK at the time. Let me tell you about it.

It was the afternoon of September 11th, 2001. We, the majority of MEK members had gathered in Bagherzadeh Camp near Baghdad because annual meetings were being held with MEK leadership. That afternoon we were playing soccer on the pitch during sports time, when several commanders rushed outside from the buildings and yelled “the American imperialism is crumbling”!

Our commander quickly explained that the Twin Towers had been targeted by airplanes and they were up in smokes.
We all quickly rushed to the cafeteria where large projection screens had been set up and the live news from Aljazeera and CNN was being broadcasted. Every time the scenes of the planes crashing into the towers were shown, the crowd cheered and clapped. That evening celebrations began. Loud music and dancing as sweets were distributed (an Iranian tradition when people receive good news). We danced until late night as the scenes of the towers crumbling were being broadcasted in the background.

We, especially the young members, had been indoctrinated that American imperialism was a “paper tiger” (a term coined by Chinese Communist Party founder Mao Zedong) and that it would one day crumble from within. And the MEK portrayed 9/11 as that day. The beginning of the fall of American imperialism. It’s important to note that Rajavi always insisted that the Islamic Republic is our tactical enemy and American imperialism is our strategic enemy.

The next day the entire MEK rank had a meeting with Masoud and Maryam Rajavi. As we sat in the meeting hall, which held almost 3000 MEK members, the Rajavis were sitting behind a wide desk on stage. On both sides of the stage were large projector screens, which were broadcasting live news and rerunning the scenes of the towers crumbling. Masoud Rajavi was very quiet during those moments, but Maryam Rajavi was smiling and clapping as the audience cheered on.

Every time I see an American politician meeting with Maryam Rajavi, this scenes comes to my mind and I think to myself: if only they were with us on that day and saw Rajavi’s smile as all those innocent people fell to their deaths.

Shame on any American who openly supports the MEK and it’s deceiving, corrupt and criminal leader Maryam Rajavi.

Former members of the MEK

The MEK is still loathed by the Iranian people

The participation of several Western dignitaries, former politicians and a soon to be envoy to the Trump administration in a conference held by the MEK (Mujahedin-e Khalgh) and NCRI has stirred quite an uproar within the Iranian diaspora. And rightfully so. But should we be worried?

As a former child soldier and 18-year member of the MEK, I spent 7 years working as a translator in their political department in Iraq. As far as I can remember, the MEK has been holding such conferences and rallies for over 15 years now. During the late 2000s and early 2010s such conferences were being held on a monthly basis. MEK was spending hundreds of thousands and in some cases millions of dollars on paid speeches. As part of the translation team, our job was to translate each and every speech and prepare Farsi subtitles for the MEK’s television network, Simaye Azadi. Therefore I know almost each and every speaker and the points they mentioned in their speeches. At least until 2017 when I escaped the MEK.

I have seen names such as John Bolton, Rudy Giuliani, Mike Pence, Joseph Lieberman, Howard Dean, Louis Freeh, James Jones, Tom Ridge, Michael Mukasey, Patrick Kennedy and many more give speeches at MEK conferences and rallies. And yet nothing happened. The MEK is still loathed by the Iranian people for it’s betrayal of the homeland and siding with Saddam Hussein during the Iran-Iraq War and killing thousands of their own fellow countrymen. The US State Department’s last statement on the MEK was that it “does not view the MEK as a viable democratic opposition for Iran” and “does not fund or train the group”.

Therefore there is no reason to be concerned.

But we must stay vigilant as the MEK has, for years, been carrying out a rebranding campaign, especially towards Western politicians. The face of this rebranding campaign is Maryam Rajavi, who portrays herself as a moderate Muslim woman who wears the hijab yet opposes mandatory hijab. She smiles and waves to the cameras and gives charismatic speeches, all in an attempt to cover the true face of the MEK and her husband, Masoud Rajavi. Anyone who spent a day in the MEK ranks knows that Maryam is a puppet of Masoud and he is still leading from the shadows. Maryam Rajavi is equally responsible for the implementation of mandatory divorces and strict rules, such as mandatory hijab, and the brainwash of MEK members as her husband Masoud is. The irony of pretending to be against mandatory hijab yet strictly implementing it within your own cult. This couple have reigned over the MEK cult through an atmosphere of fear and intimidation. Any attempts to criticize the MEK by those who have been lucky to escape or leave are met with a slander campaign. They call me a paid agent of the Islamic Republic without presenting a shred of evidence, all because I openly talk about my childhood and life experiences within the MEK and expose the true nature of this evil cult.

Therefore the MEK and Maryam Rajavi can try to rebrand their cult all they want, but individuals like me who suffered and endured enormous hardships and pain within the ranks and lost everything, including family, will be there at every corner to expose them.

Mujahedin Khalq Organization's Propaganda System

Meeting Maryam Rajavi, a corruption monitor of American officials

In recent days, Mike Pompeo, after meeting with Maryam Rajavi, has tweeted that the Iranian government will soon be overthrown. Calling the terrorist group, Mujahedin-e Khalq (the MEK), despite all its crimes, an alternative is a position worth studying. In this article, we will examine this position and how much money Pompeo and people like him have received from MEK terrorists for such statements.

The image below, taken from a speaker and performer booking company, shows Mike Pompeo’s booking price for each speech. How much does he pay for aligning himself with the terrorist extremist Cult of Rajavi? The website shows that hiring him as a speaker cost between $75,000 and $149,000. A credible document that shows that anyone can invite him to express his views in favor of theirs.

Mike Pompeo has once again flattered the MEK in exchange for $210,000. However, the issue does not end with Pompeo.

There are other officials who are willing to speak in support of the MEK in exchange for large sums of money. Like Mike Pence, who was a short-term presidential candidate in the United States. He had to provide his financial documents. Below you can see the payments made to him by the MEK.

The bribes the MEK pays its supporters and the lack of transparency of the terrorist group’s finances has led to perilous situations. In 2013, hawkish Senator Lindsey Graham was discredited for just $2,600! He was forced to return the money that a MEK supporter named Masoud Abu Ali had donated to help his campaign.

Politico report on Lindsey Graham returning MEK’s donation to his campaign

Among the Americans who attend the MEK’s multi-milion-dollar campaign, there are those who prefer to forget how many Americans, Iraqis, and Iranians the very terrorist group has killed, maimed and injured.

In a January 2023 article in the Washington Examiner, Michael Rubin stated that any connection to the MEK should be a disqualifier for a US presidential candidacy. This statement reflects the extent of corruption and discredit of the group. He considered the MEK to be extremely undemocratic and used the term “cult” to describe it.

“The group and the shell “community organizations” it creates to funnel cash to American and European politicos also refuse to open their books, raising questions about the origins of their money,” Rubin states about the MEK. “This should raise a number of questions for any recipients of MKO largesse.”

The American journalist asks a crucial question: “Is the group a political Ponzi scheme?”

Ponzi Scheme

The geographical network of the MEK’s Ponzi Scheme

Ponzi schemes are a type of investment fraud in which investors are promised artificially high rates of return with little or no risk. Original investors and the perpetrators of the fraud are paid off by funds from later investors, but there is little or no actual business activity that produces revenue.

Rubin explains: “In order to suggest grassroots support, the National Council of Resistance of Iran established 40 geographical front groups in the United States linked together by the umbrella Organization of Iranian American Communities. Some of these include supposed local groups like the Iranian American Community of Northern California, the Iranian-American Community of Maryland, and the Iranian-American Community of North Texas.”

Rubin's article

Rubin’s article

According to his investigations, none of these supposedly independent organizations file Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Form 990s, mandatory for most non-profits with gross receipts greater than $50,000. Such 990s list expenditures, income, and salaries for key employees. The U.S. Representative Office of National Council of Resistance of Iran which says it is “registered as a non-profit entity in Washington, DC” also has no 990 filed.

“The tax forms for the Organization of Iranian-American Communities are available, but are strange: All income comes from donations,” Michael Rubin adds. “Expenditures are for advertising, office expenses (even though the group lists no salaried employees) and travel. There is no expenditure lists for conferences or meetings.”

He warns about the risk of existence of such groups in the US territory explaining that that these community organizations with no paid staff, no events of their own, and little income seem to provide honoraria or political donations in excess of their total budgets. The normal donation for former American officials speaking at the MEK’s annual rallies in Paris or Albania is around $50,000, quite a haul for a five-minute speech.

Robin refers to the MEK’s claims about exposing Iran’s nuclear program. “The reality is that MKO intelligence is as often demonstrably wrong,” he suggests. “This raises another possibility: foreign intelligence organizations like those of Israel and Saudi Arabia launder their own theories and revelations through the MKO in order to protect their own assets and ensure plausible deniability. This in turn raises the possibility that the funding MKO-affiliated groups channel to American officials come from outside the U.S.”

The journalist of the Washington Examiner believes that the MEK donations have become a barometer of Washington corruption. “Given the MKO’s financial opacity, its cult-like nature, its history of terrorism to include the murder of Americans, its previous alliance with Saddam Hussein, and its refusal to come clean on any of these, it is time to state the obvious: To take any funding or donations from the MKO, National Council of Resistance of Iran, the Organization of Iranian-American Communities, or any of its local shells should be a disqualifier for higher office.”

Thus, lack of knowledge about the MEK’s background cannot be a good excuse for Western politicians. Today, if any Western official, especially an American, attends a MEK-run event and meets with Maryam Rajavi, they will have put their reputation and credibility to the test.

Aldo Sollulari Interview with Sot7 TV
Albania

Albanian TV channel SOT7 interview Aldo Sollulari and Erisa Idrizi

Albanian TV channel SOT7 interviewed the cast, director Aldo Sollulari, and actress and translator Erisa Idrizi about the documentary Mother, Love, Separation in a live broadcast.

The 50-minute live broadcast has received 2,700 views and 52 comments on the channel’s Facebook page in less than 24 hours.

About his recent interview with this strongly pro-Israel and anti-Islamic Republic TV channel, aldo Sollulari says:

In my recent interview, I made a strong call against terrorism and highlighted the potential threats posed by the MEK group. I stated that they will try to attack me, disrupt festivals, and hinder other activities, but I also emphasized that I have the full support of the Albanian state, and no one can stop me.

Furthermore, I declared that if the United States supports MEK, as MEK claims, then it is backing a dangerous group and engaging in deceitful politics. This message has already sparked significant discussion and reactions online. I have made it clear that a true democracy cannot support such groups, and I will continue my fight against terrorism without fear.

This is a strong message for all, reminding us that we must stand united against any form of terrorism and violence to protect the values of democracy and freedom.

For further information, we invite you to watch this interview, which is currently shaking the internet and igniting powerful debates.

MEK trial
Iran

Report on the 26th Session of the Court Investigating the Charges of MEK

The 26th court session to investigate the charges against 104 members of the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK) the nature of this organization as a legal entity, was held publicly on Tuesday (January 8) in Branch 11 of the Criminal Court of a Tehran province, presided over by Judge Amir Reza Dehghani and court advisors Morteza Turk and Amin Nasseri, in the presence of a minister representing the prosecutor, the families of the victims and their lawyers, as well as the lawyers of the defendants.

Following the previous session, the plaintiffs’ lawyer, Kazemi, discussed the operations carried out by the MEK, which included the torture and killing of a number of civilians. The lawyer asked the eyewitness to take the stand and testify about the victims and the accused ones of this crime.

Akbar Kabiri, one of the witnesses in this trial, after taking the oath said, “Taleb Taheri was a teenager, about 17 years old. He was short, had no features, and was very lively and active.”

According to his testimonies Khosro Zandi was the MEK agent who was charged with disappearing the bodies of the three killed victims of the Engineering Operation including Taleb. “There is a video of the discovery of the bodies of these three victims at the location announced by Khosrow Zandi,” he said.

Addressing the first defendant, the legal entity of the MEK and 104 other defendants in the case, the judge said: “International treaties on combating terrorism allow countries where terrorist acts have taken place to have their domestic courts have the authority to hear these charges and crimes.” This public trial is being held in the presence of members of the media and news agencies, and it was revealed that the organization and some of the defendants were fully aware of the trial and are commenting on it.”

He added, “I once again announce to Massoud Rajavi and the other defendants in the 26th session of the court, today we are hearing the charge of torturing a 17-year-old teenager. Your lawyers are present in court.”

The plaintiffs’ Lawyer said: “The legislator has criminalized four instances of forming, planning, organizing, and managing a criminal group. According to legal rules, a person who leads another person to commit a crime is considered an accessory to a crime. In other words, leadership of a criminal group is a specific crime; if the crime is committed by members of the group and the person who formed the group is prosecuted as leadership.”

A former member of the MEK, Jalilian also testified, he regarded Massoud Rajavi as the main person to order the atrocities the group agents committed. He told the court, “If someone in the MEK wants to drink water, it is impossible for Rajavi not to know. He issued his orders throughout the organization. They have a trained organizational cadre. It was not like they tortured someone and Massoud Rajavi was unaware.”

The next session of the court hearings to investigate the crimes of the MEK and its leaders will be held on January 21.

MEK terror Activities
Mujahedin Khalq Organization as a terrorist group

MEK Tortured and Assassinated a Shoemaker

In 1982, the Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK) terrorist group abducted a shoemaker named Abbas Effatravash, whose wife was a supporter of the Islamic Republic, from his shop and subjected him to torture.

According to Habilian, the information obtained through interrogations by the Islamic Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in 1982 revealed the details of this crime.

MEK terrorist group abducted a shoemaker named Abbas Effatravash

MEK terrorist group abducted a shoemaker named Abbas Effatravash

Based on this document, the MEK central command ordered that the shoemaker, whose wife was a supporter of the Islamic Republic, be kidnapped and interrogated for information. To this end, the MEK reconnaissance team, disguised as members of the Islamic Revolution Committees, went to the shoemaker’s house at 10 PM and asked for him. Since the shoemaker was not home, they went to his shop near his house and asked him to come with them to the Committee to answer a few questions. The shoemaker, unaware of the situation, agreed and was taken by the operational unit in a car to a pre-prepared building. Upon entering the house, the shoemaker was subjected to torture, and after extensive torture on the first day, it was revealed that he was unaware of everything, and what the central command had said about him was untrue. Despite his pleas and after extensive torture on the first day, it became clear that he had no information, contradicting what the MEK centra command had claimed. Nevertheless, the torture continued until he was killed.

Conference of the Albanian Nejat Society in Tirana
Missions of Nejat Society

Message from the President of the Nejat Society Albania

Greetings to all my dear compatriots and also to all the Iranian families of the members trapped in the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK) camp in Manz.

I congratulate you on the arrival of the year 2025, I wish it to be a year full of goodness and blessings for all of you.

We also hope that the year 2025 will be the year of the connection of Iranian families with their loved ones trapped in the People’s Mujahedin Organization camp in Manez and the realization of the fundamental rights of the current members of this organization and that good and new events will take place in this year.

I take the opportunity to review some of the important activities carried out by Nejat Society Albania in 2024

The documentary film “Mother, Love, Separation”, which is the result of our meeting with several mothers grieving due to distance and separation from their children, was produced and screened this year under the direction of Aldo Sollulari, Director of the Albanian Rescue Media. Society. This very strong and influential documentary expresses our problem well and we pledged by producing this documentary that we will continue our struggle until we achieve our goal.

During this year, many television interviews were conducted on prominent Albanian channels to clarify the nature of the MEK and the demands of families for human rights.

In this regard, many articles, discussions and online conferences were also produced, in addition to the fact that members of Nejat Society Albania were very active on social networks in cyberspace.

Online programs of meetings and talks with Nejat Society inside Iran and talks with families to resolve their problems with MEK were organized, which were very well received by the suffering families.

A public rally was held in Tirana to demand human rights for the residents of the Manez camp, as well as conferences in various cities, such as Shkodër, Elbasan, along with a photo and cartoon exhibition and a documentary screening, as well as meetings and discussions with local personalities were held.

Three books have been written by three Albanian authors and one book has been translated from Persian into Albanian, which is expected to be published, presented and distributed in the new year.

I participated in a revealing conference in Italy and met and talked with Italian personalities, which caused a hysterical reaction from the MEK and false accusations, which have been proven to be the opposite in practice. Our response to the lies spread by the leaders of the MEK is that we continue our work to protect the rights of members who are under pressure but are afraid to voice their demands.

The members and officials of the Albanian Salvation Association pledge to mothers who want to see their children and families who want to connect with their loved ones, to continue their journey in the new year more than before and with double energy.

Although we know that the MEK wants to close our association and is hostile to us in every way, we also know that all this is happening because we are telling the truths that many people do not know. We raise the voice of families who have been deprived of the right to communicate with their loved ones.

We want the people imprisoned in the MEK camp in Manez to have the right to self-determination and return to normal life and real freedom.

Here I should thank all members Nejat Society Albania for their tireless efforts despite all the difficulties and shortcomings. Although these people are often threatened or accused by the leaders of the People’s Mujahedin organization, they still show the truth of their lives and the reality within this organization.

Also, on behalf of all the members of Nejat Society Albania, I would like to appreciate the efforts of Mr. Ebrahim Khodabandeh, the CEO of Nejat Society in Iran, for leading our efforts to free the members trapped in the MEK. I also want to thank all mothers and families who have supported us in these years and I hope that in the end we will all succeed.

Once again, I congratulate everyone on the new year and wish you happiness and prosperity.

Thank you and respect

President of Nejat Society Albania

Canada bans MKO chief, group members from entering

The MKO terrorist group which had planned to transfer from Albania to Canada has faced a reaction from the Canadian government and public opinion and has failed to transfer 500 terrorists from Albania to Canada.

Considering the actions of this group in Canada and its attempt to bribe some Members of Parliament, the Department of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness of Canada, also known as Public Safety Canada, has imposed special restrictions on the group in Canada.

The most important action taken by the Canadian government is the announcement of a ban on the entry of Maryam Rajavi and the central staff of the terror group to Canada.

Additionally, according to the media, the Canadian government has banned the relocation of the group’s members from Albania to Canada.

MEK trial in Tehran reveals heinous terrorist crimes

The 25th hearing of a trial aimed at addressing the crimes of the Mojahedin e Khalgh Organization, referred to as the MKO or the MEK, was held in the Iranian capital Tehran.

The ongoing trial aims to expose the full extent of the terrorist group’s atrocities, with victims’ families present to testify. Kidnapping, torture and detonating bombs in public places, which represent only a fraction of the group’s terrorist activities, were the focus of this hearing.
