MKO’s Role in Syrian Unrests Revealed

A Saudi colonel recently apprehended by the Syrian security forces disclosed that the terrorist Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO also known as the MEK, PMOI and NCR) has played a major role in the recent conflicts in Syria.

According to the colonel, a number of 20,000 terrorists, among them a number of MKO members, were due to attack Damascus from four directions and occupy the city after the explosion inside the Syrian national security headquarters in the capital on June 18.

Also, the MKO terrorist group announced last week that it had hosted a number of Syrian dissidents at the headquarters of its ringleader Massoud Rajavi in France.

The attack on Damascus was foiled by the Syrian troops, but the colonel did not have any further details as he had been arrested in the midst of the attack.

An explosion inside the Syrian national security headquarters in Damascus targeted ministers from President Bashar al-Assad’s government who were meeting with defense officials earlier this month, killing three of the most senior members of President Assad’s inner circle, including his brother-in-law.

Terrorists and rebels widely supported by the US, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey have disregarded the cease-fire that stood on top of the peace plan proposed by the UN-Arab League envoy to Syria, Kofi Annan.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed gangs against Syrian police forces and border guards being reported across the country.

Hundreds of people, including members of the security forces, have been killed, when some protest rallies turned into armed clashes.

The government blames outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorist groups for the deaths, stressing that the unrest is being orchestrated from abroad.

In October 2011, calm was eventually restored in the Arab state after President Assad started a reform initiative in the country, but Israel, the US and its Arab allies are seeking hard to bring the country into chaos through any possible means. Tel Aviv, Washington and some Arab capitals have been staging various plots in the hope of increasing unrests in Syria.

MKO developed brainwashing for suicide bombing over thirty years

On the morning of Friday, 11 December, 1981, an elderly Iranian cleric Abdol Hosein Dastgheib was assassinated by Mojahedin Khalq assassins in the city of Shiraz while he was leaving his MKO developed brainwashing for suicide bombing over thirty years house for the Friday prayer. The assassin was a 19 year old female who was later recognized as Gohar Adab Avaz.

The assassination was a unique act of terror practiced by the MEK in which a human being was used as a living weapon. Pretending to be pregnant, she told the victim’s security people that she had a letter for the Grand Ayatollah and was willing to give the letter to him personally, while under her clothing she was wearing a powerful hand-made bomb.

In the early 80s the MEK practiced other acts of terror, among which were other suicide bombings. It was a new method in the recent history of Iran that an armed group used its members as bombs and sent them on suicide missions for terrorist activities. A method that later on was widely used by other notorious terrorist groups such as Al Qaida. Dr Abbas Milani says in an article in The National Interest, "eventually the MEK fell foul of the regime and began to fight the power holders in Tehran. Young men and women were sent in droves to armed street demonstrations. Khomeini’s regime responded with remarkable brutality, slaughtering thousands of the organization’s members. The group returned the favor and killed, by its own claims, more than two thousand regime leaders. MEK was in fact the first group in Iran (and arguably in the region) to use suicide bombers."

Obviously it takes a great deal of effort for a group to convince its members to perform suicide acts of terror. The MEK has precisely proved that it is capable of doing so. The group enjoys a cult like structure that denies family relations and members must attend daily confession meetings on their behavior and thoughts as well as their sexual feelings. Opposing members are arrested, imprisoned and tortured by their own comrades.

Justin Raimondo writes in an article in Antiwar, "MEK has been described as a cult, most notably in a scary report by Human Rights Watch, a fascinating Al Jazeera video report, and in a remarkable piece by Elizabeth Rubin in the New York Times. Rubin relates the testimony of Salahaddin Mukhtadi, an Iranian historian living in exile, who says dissident MEK members “are locked up if they disagree with anything and sometimes killed.” In the MEK cult, having particular friendships is strictly forbidden: sitting and talking together is considered a crime, especially when the subject is one’s past life before joining the cult. Wives are ordered to divorce their husbands, celibacy is mandatory, and families are broken up; nothing must come between the members and their devotion to the cause. Forced confessions and “criticism sessions” occur on a daily basis, in which participants are subjected to group abuse called “ideological cleansings.”

The process of mind manipulation that was used by the MEK is not only still practiced, but has been further developed. The group has specifically defined and delved into newer methods of brainwashing and takes advantage of isolating its own members from the outside world.

According to an internal speech of the group`s leaders which has been leaked out by ex-members and is posted on YouTube, the Rajavis say that a member of the MEK has to offer their blood and breath to the leadership. They continue that, if any member is not willing to offer his/her life for the cause of the group, his or her life is Haram (forbidden).

What makes MEK scarier is that the group has never taken any practical step to distance itself from its history of violation and terror. As mentioned, the process which led members of the organization to become walking bombs is deeply developed and the power-thirsty leadership which proved itself ruthlessly able and willing to sacrifice all the members on their own behalf is still running MEK.

MEK behind second violent incident in Europe in a month

Attacker of Iranian diplomat in Frankfurt linked to Mojahedin Khalq (MKO, MEK, Rajavi cult) terror group

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Hassan Qashqavi told reporters that one of the Iranian consular members in Frankfurt had been attacked by an African woman on Monday while he was returning home from work.

While the German police appear to have not fully investigated the incident, Iran-Interlink has learned that the African woman in question had previously been paid to attend a rally held by the Mojahedin Khalq terrorist cult in Villepinte, France on June 23rd.

The MEK had paid and bussed in several hundred such African and other refugees from all over Europe to make up an audience for its paid speakers, who mostly came from America.

This is the second violent incident in the past month involving the MEK. Nader Naderi, a former MEK member, was attacked and beaten up by Mojahedin Khalq cult members in Paris, during an authorised march to protest human rights violations by the MEK cult leaders Massoud and Maryam Rajavi.

Mr Naderi suffered a broken rib and other injuries and was taken to hospital by a shocked English tourist who had filmed the event as evidence for the police.

Iran summons German envoy over police misconduct

The Iranian Foreign Ministry has summoned the German ambassador to Tehran Bernd Erbel to strongly protest against the police confrontation with an Iranian diplomat in Frankfurt.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Hassan Qashqavi said that one of the Iranian consular members in Frankfurt was attacked by an African woman on Monday while he was returning home from work, IRNA reported on Wednesday.

“Instead of confronting the assailant individual, the German police unfortunately displayed a violent behavior toward our country’s diplomat…” he said.

“Following the occurrence, the German ambassador to Tehran was summoned to the Foreign Ministry and he received the strong protest of the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran against the German police behavior toward the diplomat],” Qashqavi added.

The Iranian government has also demanded German officials to launch an immediate investigation and explain the police misbehavior.

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Berlin and its consulate in Frankfurt have also sent letters to German officials, made contacts and held talks with them to voice Tehran’s protest in this regard.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry further condemned the move as part of an anti-Iran plot, aimed to undermine Tehran diplomatic image.

Ethics Coming to Matter for MKO!

Maryam Rajavi accuses the State Department of unethical behavior for not delisting MKO

In a widespread struggle to be removed from the blacklist, Maryam Rajavi in her speech made on June 25 in objection to MKO’s terrorist tag stated: “Which law and which ethical and humanitarian Maryam Rajavi accuses the State Department of unethical behavior for not delisting MKO principle, would allow the State Department to defer the removal of the PMOI until Camp Ashraf is evacuated?” Has she ever been asked for what ethical and humanitarian cause did the agents of her organization sent many people to their death by planted bombs? And nothing can justify the recorded atrocities of MKO and clean its leaders’ hands of the innocent bloods even if removed from any list.

To dig up truth about the terrorist cult of Mojahedin Khalq Organization MKO/MEK, it is just anniversary of another bloody, flagrant terrorist perpetration. As disclosed in the US State Department’s Report in 1992, the group is unquestionably responsible for one of the most heinous terrorist operations in its armed warfare against Iranian regime. The report states:

“The Mojahedin initiated a wave of bombings and assassinations against the Khomeini regime that reverberates today. The most spectacular attack occurred June 28, 1981, when two bombs tipped apart the headquarters of the Islamic Republic Party (IRP, the party of the clerics), killing 74 members of the regime’s top leadership, including the URP’s leader, Ayatollah Beheshti,(14) ministers, and 27 Majles deputies.

In a row of self-suicide operations and blasts, Rajavi’s agents sent many cleric and political personalities to their death. The most spectacular operations occurred on June 28, 1981, when two bombs ripped apart the headquarters of the Islamic Republic Party killing 74 dignitaries of the regime including the party’s leader, Ayatollah Beheshti,14 ministers, and 27 Members of Parliament. Majority of dissident groups condemned such bloody, unethical means of opposition and the operation highlighted the terrorist potentiality of MKO as global threat to be later included on the US terrorist list.

MKO, A Terrorism Problem to Be Confronted

MKO has to be confronted as a terrorist group that is already turning into a global problem

The common point concerning the terrorist groups on the State Department’s blacklist is that MKO, A Terrorism Problem to Be Confronted majority of them, at least in the coverage of the media, have been downgrading from a major, serious threat as already advertised to insignificant threats or have totally changed their violent means of struggle. There are even cases in which the terrorist perpetrators are referred to in media coverage as “mass killers” or “gunmen”. But there are ones amongst them with inbred violence and have adopted terrorism as a working instrument to achieve their claimed political objectives.

Mojahedin Khalq Organization (aka. MKO, MEK, PMOI, NCRI, NLA, MISA), for instance, has been put on the list from its very initiating in 1997, has a four decade-long history of violence. In fact, from an ideological point of view, violence has been an innately distinguished feature of MKO from the beginning of its formation and that, the key solution to accomplish organizational and ideological achievements has been through practice of violence. That is an undeniable fact and there are irrefutable evidences to be consulted.

Even the European Union that removed it from its list of terror first and Americans who have kept it on the list are still, even with more emphasis, stressing on unrevealed aspects of its terrorist nature. But what distinguishes MKO as a terrorist-oriented organization with others on the list is that its change of position and stances depends on the circumstances and political fluctuations that enable it to command wide-ranging respect and support even from those who were in opposite fronts. Of course, it has provided the appropriate background and framework for forged non-violent and pro-democratic activities through its Paris based NCRI led by Maryam Rajavi, a suitable dummy appointed by her husband to lead the pseudo-democratic wing of a whole structure he himself leads. Taking advantage of civil liberties the democracies provide, she has freedom for maneuvering just in the heart of the arena of democracies to advertise undemocratic fancies.

While the husband Massoud Rajavi, living in hideout whose whereabouts is unknown, delivers messages addressed to veterans and encourages them to be on full alert to outface any probable forceful reaction from the Iraqi forces instead of continuation of a peaceful cooperation, the wife holds extravagant rallies for a pseudo-democratic demonstration mainly aimed at demonizing the adversaries. In his instructions given to residents in Camp Ashraf and Liberty for instance, through his message delivered on May 23, Rajavi repeatedly dares the devoted warriors to be determined in eliciting a violent reaction to repel any resolution inconsistent with group’s demands: “Then, do not be scared of the battle you have to confront, strike. Strike and go forward with confidence. … I want others to know, friends and foes, that today, the power of one thousand Mojahed is beyond that of the regime’s nuclear power they have gathered here in Iraq to negotiate about.“ These type of words totally lacks the needed sincerity to conclude that a terrorist group is truthfully inclined to denounce and decry a mentality of violence.

Although physically claimed to be disarmed, MKO can never denounce its terrorist mentality but undergo a change of tactics. And the societies among whom these mentally programmed terrorists live are more at risk since democratic systems inadvertently provide greater opportunities for these terrorists and create permissive environments in which their networks can operate more easily. More disappointing, the international community and those committed to combat terrorism are dragging their feet to be decisive about a terrorist group that is already turning into a global problem.

On 28th June 1981 (7 Tir, 1360), MKO blew up the head office of the Islamic Republic Party with bombs which resulted in the death of Ayatollah Mohammad Beheshti, Chief of Justice, four Tragedy of 7 Tir cabinet ministers (Health, Transport, Telecommunications and Energy ministers), twenty-seven members of the Majlis (Iranian Parliament), and several other government officials.

Failed to gain acceptance and popularity among Iranian nation after the Islamic Revolution, Mujahedin-e Khalq terrorist group resorted to terror strategy and announced officially an armed conflict with the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the nation on 20 June, 1981. On this day, Masoud Rajavi orchestrated a cruel and savage military show and ordered the armed contingents and members of his cult to rush onto the streets and begin the terrorist phase of their struggle against the government of Iran. Via this movement, they erroneously expected to spark a general uprising.

MKO terrorists blew up the headquarters of the Iran’s Islamic Republic Party (IRP) in Tehran, while a meeting of party leaders was in progress on June 28, 1981 (7 Tir, 1360). Seventy-three leading officials of the Islamic Republic lost their lives, including Chief Justice and party secretary Ayatollah Dr. Mohammad Beheshti, four cabinet ministers (Health, Transport, Telecommunications and Energy ministers), twenty-seven members of the Majlis (Iranian Parliament), and several other government officials.

The bomber, who was as a young student and a Mujahedin operative named Mohammad Reza Kolahi, had long ago penetrated into the party. After planting the bomb inside the party building, kolahi fled the scene before the explosion.

During a meeting with Tahir Jalil Habbush, head of Iraqi intelligence under Saddam Hussein, MKO ringleader assumed responsibility for this terrorist operation.

UN High Commissioner for Refugees

UNHCR: States consider MKO security threat

A senior UN official says the main reason behind the reluctance of certain countries to give refuge to members of the terrorist Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) is that they consider the UNHCR Assistant High Commissioner for Protection Erika Feller them a threat to their national security.

During a recent meeting with Iraqi Deputy Foreign Minister Labid Abawi at the UN High Commissioner for Refugees office in the Swiss city of Geneva, the UNHCR Assistant High Commissioner for Protection Erika Feller said the UNHCR will make utmost efforts to convince world states to shelter MKO members, the Habilian Association reported on Saturday.

The Habilian Association is an Iranian human rights NGO comprising a group of families that have lost their loved ones in terrorist acts during the early years following Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Iraq’s deputy foreign minister, for his part, reiterated his country’s call for the immediate expulsion of terrorist MKO group from Iraqi soil.

Abawi also pointed to Baghdad’s resolve to close down Camp New Iraq, formerly known as Camp Ashraf which is situated about 120 kilometers (74 miles) west of the border with Iran, stressing that MKO’s presence in Iraq violates the country’s constitution and poses a threat to Iraq’s national security.

The remaining MKO members at Camp Ashraf are refusing to leave the site on the account that no country has so far adhered to the obligations enshrined in the agreement signed in December 2011, the Iraqi diplomat pointed out.

The MKO fled to Iraq in 1986, where it enjoyed the support of Iraq’s executed dictator Saddam Hussein, and set up a camp near the Iranian border.

The group is also known to have cooperated with Saddam in suppressing the 1991 uprisings in southern Iraq and carrying out the massacre of Iraqi Kurds. The group has carried out numerous acts of violence against Iranian civilians and government officials.

Glorification of An Undemocratic Start

On the anniversary of starting armed warfare MKO celebrates the event under a democratic disguise

It is now three decades when the mass demonstrations of Mojahedin Khalq Organization Glorification of An Undemocratic Start MKO/MEK shook Tehran and many other Iranian provincial towns on 20 June 1981. The outcome was Mojahedin’s declaring a ruthless armed warfare against the newly born regime of Islamic Republic the day after. The day marks a turning point in group’s terrorist pedigree although many believe that it drafted the blueprint of waging an all-out war against the regime soon after the Islamic revolution and the initiation of Iran- Iraq war; it was only looking for a dear opportunity.

The frenzy firestorm on June 20 set MKO on the no return path of initiating an armed move that expanded a wave of terror by launching armed operations, carrying out daily attacks against civilians, assassinating officials and blasting bombs. The horrible nightmare of MKO’s blind operations haunted Iranian people day and night’s life and marks a post-revolution black spot in Iranian contemporary history. However, MKO hardly denounces actions deemed as terrorism in its own narrow vision and refers to them as “revolutionary resistance”.

It is for more than a decade that, for certain political causes and a change in tactics, MKO’s revolutionary resistance has undergone a dramatic shift in action and its propaganda machine and media mainly focuses on a pro-democratic coloring and reflecting democratic tendencies. In fact, any show of democracy orchestrated by MKO is tantamount to a demonstration of its innate potentiality of the revolutionary resistance.

It is now for a few years that just on the anniversary of June 20, MKO celebrates and glorifies the event under a democratic disguise and slogans; this year it is at VillePinte, Paris on 23 June. The advertising slogan is “Protection for Camp Ashraf and Camp Liberty”. MKO chants the slogan while it is the main cause of escalating tension in both camps. Those entrapped in the camps need no universally claimed protection, since the UN is decisive in refugee determination process and to convince other countries to accept members, but cooperation of the group to end their predicament. The process of relocation of members from Camp Ashraf to Camp Liberty has been ceased as MKO leaders are inventing unsound excuses.

MKO’s anti-social nature never changes however it replaces the masks and as English maxim says, the wolf may lose his teeth but never his nature. June 20 is breath of life into MKO’s armed and revolutionary resistance. It has to be commemorated and glorified but with Western favored tint of democracy. The host speaker of the event, Maryam Rajavi, has merely changed, if not wearing under, her military outfit for colorful, stylish ones. And the only ones she never cares for when she calls for their protections are the residents of the two camps living in limbo.

Where does the Mojahedin-e Khalq stand now?

Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK) terrorist group cannot be used against Iran as long as it remains in Iraq. The MEK leader Massoud Rajavi, in a fight for his own survival, has now dug himself into such a deep hole there that the MEK no longer has any role in anti-Iran activities. Instead a ridiculous situation has arisen in which his wife Maryam Rajavi is using her Paris base to attack Nouri Al Maliki and the Government of Iraq. While the West is trying to put more and more pressure on Iran and isolate the country, the self-styled Iranian opposition has now become an Iraqi opposition with no links to Iran at all except the group of Farsi speaking former members scattered through western countries who are now suing the leaders for compensation for mistreatment in Iraq, Europe and North America.

While the MEK’s paid lobbyists remain highly vocal in their attacks on the Government of Iraq (GOI) and United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), the people who still don’t have a voice are the residents inside both Camp Ashraf (aka Camp New Iraq) and Temporary Transit Camp Liberty (aka Camp Hurriya). Since the relocation process began in February numerous residents have run away and taken refuge with the Iraqi authorities. They report an increasingly tense and turbulent internal situation with violent attacks and sexual assaults becoming more frequent. Families of the residents have maintained a permanent vigil outside Camp Ashraf and now Camp Liberty[TTL] for two years in an attempt to gain access to their loved ones. The GOI has still not been given the go ahead to allow families access to the people transferred to Camp Liberty[TTL].

The UNHCR has begun refugee status determination interviews with individuals who have relocated to Camp Liberty. Of these, 238 residents have been formally declared refugees. To qualify they needed to renounce membership of the MEK. 1,400 more interviews are scheduled. The GOI remains adamant none of them will be able to remain in Iraq and the process is therefore ongoing. There is no reason for Europe or the US to refuse to accept those who have UN refugee status.
Two-thirds of the residents, just fewer than 2,000 people, have relocated. Interestingly, among them are hundreds of people with special needs, suffering from disabilities and serious medical conditions as well as many elderly people; people whom Rajavi regards as dispensable. At least five people who were rushed to hospital with life threatening conditions after they arrived at Camp Liberty[TTL] said they did not want to leave the MEK but were thrown out and told not to come back because of their illnesses. The Iraqi authorities have ensured that they have received the best treatment available.

UNAMI officials reported that the relocation of MEK from Camp Ashraf to Camp Liberty had stalled since the arrival of the fifth group of residents on 5 May as the MEK refused further movement. The reasoning behind the stop is Massoud Rajavi’s hope to drag the removal process out for another four months until the MEK is removed from the US FTO list and things will then change for him. He is certainly not prepared to cooperate with Secretary of State Clinton’s suggestion – repeated on 18 June – that they should show full cooperation before she reviews their FTO status –the implication being that if they voluntarily remove to the new camp this would be enough proof they have renounced violence.
Instead the MEK is setting its own agenda based on the legal ruling which gave rise to Clinton’s review. Rajavi does not regard the Secretary of State as being powerful enough to need to listen to and is looking instead to his Israeli friends to protect him.

However, the Government of Iraq and the UN have said every resident of Camp Ashraf must leave Iraq and it is clear they cannot be taken off the terrorism list in this situation.

To further his agenda Rajavi is using his wife’s Paris base for an advertising campaign focusing on a rally in VillePinte, Paris on 23 June. The demand is to have the MEK taken off the US list without moving the combatants from Iraq. In addition to this ‘wait it out’ tactic, Rajavi is also hopeful that Al Maliki’s government will fall – or even that he is assassinated – and that a new government in Iraq take a more favourable position toward his group. After the MEK’s office inside the European Parliament was closed, the MEK covertly financed two new lobbying offices outside the parliament for the use of Struan Stevenson, MEP and Alejo Vidal Quadras, MEP. Both MEPs switched from the European Parliament’s Iran Delegation where they lobbied for the MEK, to the Iraq Delegation to lobby for Saddamists during the Iraqi election.

But these activities are balanced by a severe crackdown on the MEK’s activities. The GOI, UNAMI, European and US representatives, the ICRC and a large body of former members are showing a united front to challenge the MEK’s stalling and diversionary tactics.

The GOI has tasked its diplomatic delegations in Europe to apprise the European political community of the lies and deception used by the MEK to cover its many contraventions of the law. Only days ago Maryam Rajavi was summoned to the Palais de Justice in Paris to answer charges to charges of terrorism related activities, fraud and slavery.

Documents have recently been made available to the US Treasury linking an array of front organisation finances to companies and investments controlled by the Mojahedin-e Khalq’s leader.

Speakers’ agencies have been warned to exercise extreme caution regarding the MEK’s methods for recruiting support for the rally in France. Those attending the rally must know they are engaged by organisations with direct links to the MEK.

In addition, with the MEK’s financial sources exposed it has become possible for victims to pursue a class action to claim compensation directly from the Rajavis. Victims of the MEK, including former members who say their basic human rights were denied them for years, have launched a legal case for compensation from the companies which Massoud and Maryam Rajavi use to fund their elaborate and expensive propaganda campaigns. Their message is clear: Individuals who accept financial recompense from the MEK through its front organisations for speeches or lobbying should know that they can no longer claim ignorance and they will be pursued through the courts to recover money which should rightfully go to compensate the victims.
Whether the MEK is on the US terrorism list or not there is very little tolerance for the group. It is widely regarded as finished.

For those who are not involved too deeply with the MEK, it would be advisable to get out now.

MKO supporters stage terror attacks in Iraq

Nouri al-Maliki’s advisor says that three MPs from al-Iraqiya bloc are charged with planning last Wednesday’s terrorist attack in Iraq.

“Primary investigations reveal that more than three representatives of al-Iraqiya have direct responsibility for financing terrorist groups,” Salam Quraishi, an economic advisor to the Iraqi government added, refusing to name them till the investigation is over.

“Investigations continue to identify the parliamentarians who are financing the terrorist groups,” said Quraishi.

MKO enjoys widespread support among al-Iraqiya bloc. In a report published last Tuesday, informed sources close to Nouri al-Maliki said that the Prime Minister of Iraq holds documents which reveal the al-Iraqiya bloc officials’ ties to terrorist groups, especially MKO.
