Members of the Swedish Parliament

Ladies and gentlemen, we are a few long serving ex-members of the Mojahedin Khalq Organisation (aka; MKO, MEK, NCRI) who have been in Mojahedin Khalq prisons because of our disagreements with the ideology and the policies of the organisation. We have all been humiliated and undergone physical and psychological tortures while inside and even after being let out of the MEK prisons. We only managed to free ourselves from the claws of the Mojahedin Khalq after the fall of the infamous dictator regime of Saddam Hussein in Iraq.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

In 1991 we witnessed the biggest co-operation between the leaders of the Mojahedin Khalq, Massoud and Maryam Rajavi, with the brutal regime of Saddam Hussein.

In a time that the Kurdish people had the chance of taking advantage of the weakness of the suppressive apparatus of Saddam. In that year when the military machine of Saddam Hussein had been severely weakened by the American forces in the first Persian Gulf war. The Kurdish forces had the best opportunity to move towards Baghdad and topple the regime of Saddam.

In March 1991 Massoud and Maryam Rajavi gave the order to massacre the Kurds with the heavy weapons given to them by Saddam and therefore stopped the Kurds from reaching Baghdad. This massacre of the Kurds is the most disgusting and shameful part of the history of this terrorist organisation during its entire existence.

The Swedish Parliament has accepted in the last few weeks to officially recognise the reality of the suffering of the Kurdish people of Iraq carried out by the Mojahedin Khalq Organisation in 1991. We believe that this just and humanitarian gesture should not be left unnoticed. We believe that other European countries should now pass similar resolutions and show their solidarity and respect for the people of Kurdistan.

We are a few long serving ex-members of Mojahedin Khalq Organisation who have managed to survive after the fall of Saddam Hussein and now live in European countries. We are living witnesses of the crimes the Mojahedin Khalq have committed in 1991. We urge you to allow us to present ourselves to your parliament and let you know what we have seen with our own eyes. In doing so we are sure that many other aspects of this horrifying crime would be revealed.

Defectors to Testify MKO’s Massacre of Kurds

The defected members of the terrorist Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO also known as the MEK, PMOI and NCR) voiced their preparedness to go to the Swedish parliament to give a testimony about MKO’s key role in the massacre of Iraqi Kurds during the rule of executed dictator Saddam Hussein.

"In order to shed light on (Massoud) Rajavi’s involvement in the killings of the Kurds in Iraq during Saddam’s era, we are ready and willing to provide you (the Swedish parliament) with witness accounts and documents in this cause," the Iranian Pen Association said in an open letter to the Swedish Parliament Speaker, Per Westerberg.

Greetings,

In a brave and humanitarian move, the Swedish Parliament passed a resolution on 5 December, 2012 acknowledging the massacre of Kurdish people. We as members of the Iran Pen Association salute this decision by the Swedish Parliamentarians and ask you to set up further investigations and research into the disastrous killings of Kurds, so that more people around the world would learn and realize how badly the Kurds have suffered under tyranny and therefore; similar atrocities against them in future could be prevented.

Among the ruling regimes in the Region which have suppressed the Kurdish people, Iraq’s ousted dictator Saddam Hussein had committed the most savage crimes. Especially, by the chemical bombardment of the town of Halabche and later by attacking the Kurds with heavy weapons and artillery, tanks and missiles when they rose up against Saddam’s despotic rule at the end of the Kuwait War. In fact, it was in this very brutal war against the Kurds that Saddam Hussein used the Iranian group of PMOI/MEK armed forces to savagely suppress the Kurds’ uprising and widespread massacres followed.

We, the writers of this letter, are from Iran Pen Association in Europe that consists of defectors from this Iranian group PMOI/MEK led by Massoud Rajavi. Our activities include Human Rights promotion and helping Iranian refugees. The majority of us have each spent more than twenty years inside Rajavi’s cult in Iraq and each one of us is a living witness and has abundant experience and knowledge of the PMOI/MEK leadership (Massoud and Maryam Rajavi), its cult nature, terrorist activities and its rule of terror, deceit and humiliation inside the Organization and also its grave involvement in massacre of Iraqi Kurds.

After the brutal suppression of the Kurds, Massoud Rajavi told his followers in a meeting in Iraq that Saddam’s deputy, Ezat Ibrahim, had personally hailed and thanked him for the killing of the Kurds and putting down their uprising. Furthermore, in video tapes discovered of meetings between Massoud Rajavi and General Haboush (the chief of Saddam’s secret Intelligence Service), Haboush thanked Rajavi for suppressing the Kurds and told Rajavi that he was then considered as a member of Saddam’s Baath Party leadership. In those days of waging war against the Iraqi Kurds, Maryam Rajavi ordered the PMOI/MEK armed forces to "run over the Kurds by tanks".

The truth and reality is that due to the religious-cult nature of the PMOI/MEK, the extent and depth of its crimes in and outside the Cult, including its involvement in bloody massacre of Kurds; has still mainly remained uncovered and untold. Therefore; in order to shed light on Rajavi’s involvement in killings of the Kurds in Iraq during Saddam’s era, we are ready and willing to provide you with witnesses and documentation for this cause.

We are a group of the former members of people’s mujahedin organization of Iran (MEK, MKO, Former MEK members offer witness over Kurdish massacres Rajavi’s cult) who have succeeded to rescue ourselves from the physical and mind barriers of pmoi after 20-25 years of membership in this notorious organization.

We are currently living in different European countries such as France, Netherlands, Germany and …….).

We got informed that the members of Riksdag (the national legislative assembly and the supreme decision-making body in the Kingdom of Sweden) in a humanitarian move have condemned the massacre of Kurds by MEK.

We had all witnessed the crime perpetrated by pmoi in Iraq in 1991. we had witnessed the suppression and massacre of Kurds in Iraq which happened by the direct order of the leaders of MEK, Massoud and Maryam Rajavi . Mrs. Maryam Ghajar Azdanlo ( Maryam Rajavi) had ordered directly through the military transmitters to the MEK military units quote **squash the Kurds under your tanks and armored vehicles and save your ammunitions and bullets for the border and Iranian soil for killing the Iranian soldiers **. This brutal and inhumane order was broadcast by Maryam Rajavi own voice through the military transmitters and after that the Kurds who began uprising against the Saddam Hussein’s government were crushed out and suppressed brutally by MEK army, NLA( National Liberation Army) in favor of the Iraqi dictator , Saddam Hussein in Iraq’s Kurdish areas such as Kafri, Touz Khormato, Ghareh Tapeh, Ghasreh Shirin and …………..etc.

Mr. Per Westerberg and the honorable and distinguished members of Riksdag,

We, after the separation from this terrorist organization (MEK, mko, Rajavi’s cult) with sectarian and cultic internal affaires led and run by Massoud and Maryam Rajavi , have decided to reveal and disclose all the crimes perpetrated by this notorious and dangerous organization to stop this organization from further crime and killing .

We are urging you to give us the opportunity and permission to reveal and divulge the crimes perpetrated by MEK in face to face meeting with you and the honorable members of Riksdag in your assembly and inform you more about those crimes in details .

We know that some of the MEK terrorist members are active in your country and there are many documents and evidence which show that the MEK have been supporting them covertly and use them to attack its dissidents and opponents in France and other European countries.

Iranian People Never Forgive MKO’s Crimes

A defected member of the anti-Iran terrorist Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO also known as the MEK, PMOI and NCR) disclosed the cult-like group’s horrendous crimes against the Iranian Hussein Nejad;MKO former member who served as Rajavi's inerpreter nation, and said Iranians will never forgive the MKO.

"Rajavi (the ringleader of the MKO) killed a large number of Iranian people as well as the MKO members through deception and temptation," Ghorbanabli Hosseinnejad, a highly trusted veteran member of the MKO and the confided interpreter of MKO ringleader Massoud Rajavi in talks with Iraqi government officials during Saddam’s era, told FNA on Monday.

Asked if he thinks that the Iranian people will forgive the MKO ringleaders and members, he said, "I never think so. Rajavi’s blow at the Iranian people after the (Islamic) Revolution (1979) is not Iranian People Never Forgive MKO's Crimes forgivable."

The MKO is behind a slew of assassinations and bombings inside Iran, a number of EU parliamentarians said in a recent letter in which they slammed a British court decision to remove the MKO from the British terror list. The EU officials also added that the group has no public support within Iran because of their role in helping Saddam Hussein in the Iraqi imposed war on Iran (1980-1988).

Many of the MKO members abandoned the terrorist organization while most of those still remaining in the grouplet are said to be willing to quit but are under pressure and torture not to do so.

A May 2005 Human Rights Watch report accused the MKO of running prison camps in Iraq and committing human rights violations.

According to the Human Rights Watch report, the outlawed group puts defectors under torture and jail terms.

The group, founded in the 1960s, blended elements of Islamism and Stalinism and participated in the overthrow of the US-backed Shah of Iran in 1979. Ahead of the revolution, the MKO conducted attacks and assassinations against both Iranian and Western targets.

The group started assassination of the citizens and officials after the revolution in a bid to take control of the newly established Islamic Republic. It killed several of Iran’s new leaders in the early years after the revolution, including the then President, Mohammad Ali Rajayee, Prime Minister, Mohammad Javad Bahonar and the Judiciary Chief, Mohammad Hossein Beheshti who were killed in bomb attacks by MKO members in 1981.

The group fled to Iraq in 1986, where it was protected by Saddam Hussein and where it helped the Iraqi dictator suppress Shiite and Kurd uprisings in the country.

The terrorist group joined Saddam’s army during the Iraqi imposed war on Iran (1980-1988) and helped Saddam and killed thousands of Iranian civilians and soldiers during the US-backed Iraqi imposed war on Iran.

Since the 2003 US invasion of Iraq, the group, which now adheres to a pro-free-market philosophy, has been strongly backed by neo-conservatives in the United States, who argued for the MKO to be taken off the US terror list.

The US formally removed the MKO from its list of terror organizations in early September, one week after Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sent the US Congress a classified communication about the move. The decision made by Clinton enabled the group to have its assets under US jurisdiction unfrozen and do business with American entities, the State Department said in a statement at the time.

In September 2012, the last groups of the MKO terrorists left Camp Ashraf, their main training center in Iraq’s Diyala province. They have been transferred to Camp Liberty which lies Northeast of the Baghdad International Airport.

Camp Liberty is a transient settlement facility and a last station for the MKO in Iraq.

subordination to Iraq’s security services during the era of former dictator Saddam Hussein and played a key role in the massacre of Shiites and Kurds during Iraq’s Intifada in 1991, a defected member said.

"The Organization collaborated (with the Saddam-era Iraqi forces) in the suppression of the Iraqi Intifada in 1991, in which the Kurds in Kurdistan and the Shiites in Southern Iraq were massacred," Ghorbanabli Hosseinnejad, a highly trusted veteran member of the MKO and the special interpreter of MKO ringleader Massoud Rajavi in talks with Iraqi government officials during Saddam’s era, disclosed in an interview with FNA on Monday.

He confirmed that the group acted as Saddam’s extra military wing for conducting terrorist operations and kidnappings in Iraq.

Hosseinnejad also revealed that the cult-like group has carried out numerous terrorist operations along the Iranian borders and within the country, a number of which were in Tehran.

MKO Should Pay Ransom for Crimes in Iraq

A representative of the Shiite Sadr Movement at the Iraqi parliament called on the terrorist Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO, also known as the MEK, NCR and PMOI) to pay ransom for the massacres and crimes it has committed against the Iraqi people during Saddam’s era.

Iqbal al-Qarabi, the representative of al-Ahrar parliamentary faction affiliated to the Sadr Movement, said over 380 cases have been opened by the residents of al-Khalis region in the Diyali province against the MKO, and once these cases go through litigation, the MKO should pay ransom for them.

He called on the Iraqi judiciary system to start the judicial processing for these cases at the earliest and issue fair verdicts for them.

Iraq denounces US plan to delist MKO terror group

Iraq has denounced the United States’ plan to remove the anti-Iranian Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) from the US State Department’s list of terrorist organizations.

The MKO is listed as a terrorist organization by much of the international community, including Iraq tells US: Don’t delist MKO as a terrorist group Iraq, and has committed numerous terrorist acts against Iranians and Iraqis. The group also cooperated with former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein in the massacres of Iraqi Kurds and in suppressing the 1991 uprisings in southern Iraq.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s office, the Iraqi government said that Washington’s decision of delisting the MKO as a terrorist group would not change Baghdad’s position toward the group “which was involved in terrorist acts against Iraqis, in addition to its role in defending the former (Saddam Hussein) regime.”

The statement also said that Baghdad is determined to expel members of the terrorist organization from Camp Ashraf, and called on the United Nations to fulfill its commitment to resettle the group members outside Iraq.

On September 21, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sent the US Congress a classified communication about the decision.

"I am not in a position to confirm the contents of this, because it’s classified, but we anticipate being able to make a public announcement about it sometime before October 1," State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said later in the day.

Two unnamed US officials said that the decision would be officially announced next week.

The MKO fled to Iraq in the 1980s, where it enjoyed the support of Saddam Hussein and set up Camp Ashraf in the eastern province of Diyala, near the Iranian border.

According to US officials, there are about 1,200 to 1,400 MKO members currently residing at Camp Ashraf, while some 2,000 have relocated to the new base outside of Baghdad since February.

Iran has repeatedly called on the Iraqi government to expel the group, but the US has been putting pressure on Baghdad to resist the calls.

MKO looted Iraqi munitions, lands after fall of Saddam

Habilian Foundation (families of Iranian terror victims) caught up with a former member of MEK leadership Council to talk about the terrorist Cult of Rajavi (also known as Mujahedin-e Khalq, MKO looted Iraqi munitions, lands after fall of Saddam MEK, and MKO) and her two decades of experience in the terrorist cult.

In the first part of this serialized interview, Batoul Soltani talks about the way she and her 3-month-old baby were transferred to Iraq and then she further discusses the MKO’s situation in the very first year of their arrival in Iraq. The following is a rough transcription of the interview.

Habilian: How the MKO members went to Iraq? Did they use legal ways? Did they have passport and visa or they went to Iraq illegally?

Soltani: In his dream to take power in Iran, Masoud Rajavi aligned with Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein who was at war with Iran. He left France for Iraq in a bid to overwhelm Iran, and spent exorbitant amounts of cash to draw together his members, opponents, even the addicts and poor people from all walks of life in Iraq.

Having Saddam’s government as his supporter, Rajavi gathered troops in Iraq and in neighboring Iran by forging travel documents and making fake passports with huge sums of money given by Saddam Hussein to help him overthrow Iran and make himself the full owner of Iran’s soil. For instance, I and my husband have been transferred to Iraq by a fake Iraqi passport with names of Zahra and Abrahim.

We did not know then the ominous thoughts of them for us, and we did deem it a right way and thought that we would be able to go to a European country, such as France and to enjoy a free life and well-being. But after our arrival, (Rajavi) took all our (travel) documents and destroyed the bridges behind us in a bid to compel us to remain in Iraq and to follow his organizational orders.

Habilian: How many members were in MKO in the first years of its presence in Iraq? What was the total number of members in the last year of Saddam Hussein’s rule?

Soltani: Rajavi tried to take all the members to Iraq at all costs. The number of members in the great operations was 5000, 1000 of whom were killed in Forough Javidan (Mersad) operation.

In the last year of Saddam’s rule, Rajavi sent a group of members to France along with his third wife, Maryam Rajavi. A bunch of members escaped the Organization, and the remaining members were 3400 in the last year of Saddam’s reign.

Habilian: How was the Organization provided with Camp Ashraf? How the facilities and infrastructure constructed there?

Soltani: After the meeting of Rajavi with Tareq Aziz, the then Iraqi foreign minister, known as Peace Meeting, and in his meeting with Saddam, Masoud Rajavi was gifted with Ashraf Garrison and several other garrisons at Iran-Iraq borders and in the deserts on the frontiers which previously belonged to Saddam’s Army as well as some palaces inside Baghdad.

Ashraf Garrison known as Filq II was smaller than the present, so Rajavi said that he needed bigger land. Thus, Saddam confiscated the surrounding lands and handed them over to Rajavi.

Later, the land which was about 36 square kilometers were laid down barbed wire and tall guard towers were built inside it. Electrical wiring and strong floodlights were installed on the sides of the garrison.

A prison was built inside it and a round-the-clock patrol and security forces made there a big and isolated prison.

Habilian: Did the Organization underwrite the building garrison and providing facilities? How did the Organization fund them?

Soltani: It was seemingly the Organization that underwrote the projects, but they took all the money from Iraqi government en masse. Notably before the fall of Saddam Hussein, the Organization was provided with so much money that immediately after the downfall of Saddam Hussein members of the Organization tried to buy companies in Iraq.

The Organization took out as far as it could the wretched peoples’ assets, so that they could establish foreign investments companies.

Habilian: How did the Iraqi people treat MKO?

Soltani: Since Iraqi Kurds remembered the Organization’s alignment with Saddam’s army in suppression of their uprising, they hated MKO members, and the rest of Iraqi people saw us as the members of (Saddam’s) army and they hated and feared us.

We have been prohibited to have contacts with Iraqi people even at the time of Saddam Hussein.

The Organization tried to replace this hatred and fear to relation and friendship. So, Rajavi ordered large parties to be held and thousands of Iraqi people were invited to dinner or lunch.

He spent very huge amount of money in this way. He even managed to penetrate into Iraqi society by organizing roughly 500 Iraqis with big costs. He established an Iraqi militia, and held Persian language classes inside the Garrison and paid them money.

Habilian: How did the members saw the Iraqi imposed war on Iran and their cooperation with invading forces who assaulted their territory?

Soltani: Masoud Rajavi has spent thousands of hours convincing their presence in Iraq and cooperation with aggressive Saddam. In the first step he tried to pretend that it was Iran who invaded Iraq and he instead described Saddam Hussein as a civilized and good man. He has made an angel in our minds from Saddam who was a demon. Rajavi even white-washed Saddam’s bloody hands in the massacre of Kurds, and said that Kurds are our enemies and (Iranian) regime’s accomplices.

Everything was censored in Rajavi’s Organization and we had no access to media, news, or free world. For example, he said: “we seek peace in order to prevent the killing of people, though, this is Iran which put all of their lives at stake and we want to prevent the war to stop killing people,” thereby he legitimized his collusion with aggressive forces.

Habilian: Did the relationship between the Organization and Iraqi government changed after the Iraq’s defeat in war?

Soltani: In his childish dream and of course with the help of his opportunistic personality, Rajavi attacked Iran after the defeat of Iraq in war with Iran, but he was rewarded with a strong slap in his face by Iranian people and his organization fled Iraq with 1000 casualties.

Then he said that children and wives prevented them from a good combat, so, he dismantled the families like a wolf sending the children to foreign countries and coerced wives to divorce. Thenceforth he himself married them.

He (Rajavi) had arguments with Iraqis too. He vituperated Saddam a lot, saying that his air support was not enough.

On the verge of Saddam’s overthrow, Rajavi took away Iraqi people and government’s properties, so that he got to extend the Camp (Ashraf) to the western (borders) by capturing Iraqi military forces headquarters. They also captured weapons and ammunition left around Iraqi Garrisons, and took them all to Ashraf Garrison claiming that they belonged to himself (Rajavi)!

Al-Qaida group wants off U.S. terror list

History includes assassinations, breaking oil embargo

WASHINGTON – There are increasing indications that the anti-Iranian Mujahedin-e-Khalq Organization, known as the MEK or MKO, is working with al-Qaida to topple the U.S.-backed Iraqi government, even though it seeks to be removed from the U.S. State Department’s terror list, History includes assassinations, breaking oil embargo according to a report in Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin.

An MKO defector said the group is collaborating with leaders of Iraq’s dissident groups as well as al-Qaida.

While the MEK has been involved in various assassinations, it has mounted a major campaign in the United States to have its name removed from the State Department’s terror list.

In addition to the U.S., other Western countries also regard the MEK as a terror entity.

Ali Hosseinnejad, who recently defected from the MEK and surrendered to Iraqi military forces, said the MKO leadership wants to topple the Iraqi government of Nouri al-Maliki, who is Shiite and sympathetic to Iran.

In addition to continuing ties with the Sunni al-Qaida terrorist group, Hosseinnejad said the MEK is working with remnants of the regime of ousted President Saddam Hussein, who also was Sunni.

The MEK is against the Iranian regime and had worked closely with the security services of the Hussein government against Iran. It still seeks the overthrow of the clerics in Tehran.

Hosseinnejad also has revealed that the MEK earned significant income by smuggling and selling Iraqi oil when the country was under an international oil embargo during Saddam’s regime.
