Last group of Dissociated members of MKO in a meeting in Paris

A group of human rights activists and separated members of MKO, Mr. Ebrahimi ,Mr. Sepehri ,Mr. Naseri and Mr. Kohzadi attended the meeting where they were congratulated for their release form Camp Ashraf prison.

During the meeting that lasted a few hours, MKO former members, spoke of human rights violations and various psychological pressures imposed on MKO members in Camp Ashraf.

The attendees discussed possible approaches to contribute their ex-comrades captured in Ashraf in order to get released from the notorious cult of Rajavi. They confirmed that families’ presence in front of Ashraf gates would strengthen the captives’ will to release themselves.
They notified that MKO leaders seriously feel threatened and terrified due to the families’ presence.

Mr. Mehdi Khoshhal said:" It is funny that Rajavi wonders why families of MKO victims use loudspeakers to send their messages to their beloved ones or why the number of loudspeakers around Camp Ashraf is increased. "

Mr. Razaghi , Mr. Naderi , Mr. Sarafpour , Mr. Ariyaiee and Mr. Sobhani were some other MKO former members who participated the meeting.

Mr. Mahmoud Sepahi announces separation from MKO

Mr. Sepahi spent nine years in Rajavi’s cult. He could release himself and arrive in free world two years ago. He announced his separation from the cult in the following statement:

I’m Mahmoud Sepahi. In 2000, when I was residing in UAE in hope of immigration to the United States, I was deceived by MKO recruiters and taken to Iraq. After a few days, I found out the lies they had told me and that I had been taken there to remain in Camp Ashraf. Since the early days, I asked them to let me get back to UAE but they created so terrible condition for me that I was convinced to stay there.

I entered the organization which was not only like the hell but also like a political lunatic center. Every day, there were numerous meetings under various titles such as "Current Operation" which was held in order to suppress dissidents. During the meetings, the commandants verbally abused members with the most horrendous foul-mouthed language that you could never ever believe and you didn’t dare to reply one word to defend yourself.

When I asked for leaving Ashraf I was threatened to be imprisoned in Ashraf for two years and then I would be handed to Iraqi forces who would in turn jail me in Abu Quraib for eight years and finally I would be exchanged with Iraqi prisoners of war and would be delivered to Iranian government. Thus I remained in damned Camp Ashraf for nine years. At last they kicked me out of Ashraf because according to them I had "problems of woman and life" and I hadn’t accepted the organization.

When I declared my eagerness to leave the camp, first they tried to flatter me. Then they held numerous meetings for fourteen days but I succeeded to flee all their traps and released myself. In 2009, I could reach Europe by help of my family.

Today in Feb. 22, 2011, I declare my complete separation from Mujahedin Khalq. I’m thankful to my God who helped me arrive in free world, live a free life and decide for my own future. I hope that my bitter experience will enlighten others who are at risk of being captured by such a terrorist destructive cult so that they won’t lose the best period of their life.

Human Rights Abuse in the MEK

Defected Member Reveals MKO Ringleaders’ Crimes against Women

A defected member of the anti-Iran terrorist Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization revealed that the female members of the group have been living under captivity for more than 25 years and are not even allowed to appear in public places alone.

"It can be firmly said that 95% of the women in Ashraf Camp (the terrorist group’s resort in Iraq) have not even been allowed to step in Iraq’s public and recreational places alone all throughout the last 25 years," the defected member said.

The former member of the MKO also revealed that nearly 70% of the female members of the terrorist group are single and have not been allowed to marry anyone in or outside the group.
And only a total of 10% of the married members have been allowed to have children, he added..
The defected member mentioned that since 1989 the MKO has deprived its male and female members of the right of marriage, meaning that they are not allowed to form a family and the children of those members who had married before 1989 were taken away from their parents and sent to the European countries.

The MKO ringleaders are also reported to be using torture and pressure on their own dissident members, barring the dissident members from leaving the organization and joining their families.

An Iraq-based right group unveiled in a December report that ringleaders of the MKO have resorted to various forms of mass killing in a bid to bring the group out of the current impasse in Iraq.

According to a report by Iraqi daily Motamar, also published by Edalat (Justice) Society web site – an organ of the families of the Iranian victims of terrorism – the Iraqi right group has sent serious warnings to civil society and human rights bodies as well as the Iraqi government about the ongoing humanitarian disaster in the MKO’s main training camp in Northern Iraq.

The Sahar Family Foundation also said that the MKO’s ringleaders are forcing the dissident members of the group to commit suicide, and if they refuse to do so, the leaders massacre defectors themselves.

The right group called on the Iraqi judiciary system, international court of justice and all international human rights bodies as well as the Iraqi and international media to take urgent action to stop the human catastrophe in the camp which, they said, now looks more like a slaughterhouse.

Also in December, Makki Rafi’ee, another defected member of the MKO, had revealed that the ringleaders of the group have ordered their agents to torture dissidents in a bid to dissuade defection.

Rafi’ee disclosed that agents of the MKO resorted to various types of torture and pressure against him during the last 15 years, and that he had been jailed in the notorious Camp Ashraf in Northern Iraq all these years.

"After 15 years of imprisonment in Camp Ashraf and tolerating various tortures by the agents of the grouplet, I managed to escape from the Camp and surrender myself to the Iraqi security forces," he added.

Also, a November report by the Habilian Association, an Iran-based human rights group, said that under the direct order of MKO’s Ringleader Maryam Rajavi, leaders of the terrorist group in the Camp of New Iraq (formerly known as Camp Ashraf) allow their members to receive medical aids, healthcare and other services in return for given levels of cooperation.

Based on the order, dissident members are deprived of medicine and other medical services or, at least, face much hardship and difficulty in procuring their necessary medicines.

The right group added that the new measure came after protests remarkably increased inside the group, specially in the camp. Right groups are gravely concerned that a large number of MKO members may lose their lives soon if UN, human rights and Iraqi officials do not force the group leaders to end their tortures and pressures against the dissident members.

In relevant development, a report revealed in November that Ahmad Razzani, a veteran member of the MKO, had been killed inside the Camp.

According to an August report by the Habilian Association, the MKO leaders have increased their pressures and control over the members of the terrorist group to prevent possible defection and escape by unsatisfied members.

Reports also said that all exit and entry doors have been locked and none of the members, even those suffering from acute diseases and illnesses, are allowed to leave the camp.

MKO ringleaders have ordered the camp guards to stage snap inspections of the group’s members and their personal belongings under the pretext of finding the lost weapons.
Such behaviors have sparked discontent among a number of MKO members and made them escape the camp and return to their anguished families.

The MKO is behind a slew of assassinations and bombings inside Iran, a number of EU parliamentarians said in a letter last year in which they slammed a British court decision to remove the MKO from the British terror list. The EU officials also added that the group has no public support within Iran because of their role in helping Saddam Hussein in the Iraqi imposed war on Iran (1980-1988).

The group, founded in the 1960s, blended elements of Islamism and Stalinism and participated in the overthrow of the US-backed Shah of Iran in 1979. Ahead of the revolution, the MKO conducted attacks and assassinations against both Iranian and Western targets.

The group started assassination of the citizens and officials after the revolution in a bid to take control of the newly established Islamic Republic. It killed several of Iran’s new leaders in the early years after the revolution, including the then President, Mohammad Ali Rajayee, Prime Minister, Mohammad Javad Bahonar and the Judiciary Chief, Mohammad Hossein Beheshti who were killed in bomb attacks by MKO members in 1981.

The group fled to Iraq in 1986, where it was protected by Saddam Hussein and where it helped the Iraqi dictator suppress Shiite and Kurd uprisings in the country.

Mr. Saeed Naseris’ official statement of separation

I’m Saeed Naseri. In 1996, I left Iran in order to travel to Europe where I was supposed to continue my studies.

I entered Iraqi territory to reach Camp Ramadi from where I was supposed to set off for Europe I whole-heartedly hope that my ex-comrades in Ashraf will be able to live a free life too. but Iraqi security forces arrested and imprisoned me. After a month, two MKO members came over to visit me in Abu Quraib. They asked some questions about my motivations of coming to Iraq.

In their later visit, they suggested three options including staying in Abu Quraib because of my illegal arrival to Iraqi soil, being handed over to Iranian security forces and joining MKO.
The third option was the one they insisted on a lot. They told me "If you join Mujahedin, you will easily go to Europe to continue your education. So I chose the last option in dream of moving to Europe in six months.

In April 1996, I was taken to Camp Ashraf where I received military training. Day after day, the conditions were deteriorating for me. You had to attend brainwashing meetings where you were verbally abused and you couldn’t say a word to defend yourself. You were forced to work hard in the very hot weather of Iraq…

Briefly, I’d say that You have no power to think in Camp Ashraf. You have to do anything Maryam and Massoud say. You are like a slave. You are just given food and you have no other advantages, no access to free world and no contact with your family.

Finally after two years I decided to leave the camp so I wrote it to my senior official. The result was catastrophic. The same night the officials called me, holding meeting where they terribly insulted me for a long time until after midnight. The next morning they gave me a paper to sign. I noticed that was a document that indicated I would be imprisoned for two years in departure section of the camp (solitary confinement) and then I would be delivered to Iraqi forces to be jailed in Abu Quraib for eight more years … So I decided to choose between bad and worse. I chose bad and stayed in Ashraf where I burned fifteen years of my life.

After the collapse of Baath regime, I found a chance to escape Camp Ashraf and join Iraqi forces. I could begin a new life. Now I’m very content of living in a free world. I’m able to think and decide freely and to contact my family. I whole-heartedly hope that my ex-comrades in Ashraf will be able to live a free life too.

Mr. Kohzadi officially declares separation from MKO

Mr. Homayoon Kohzadi could manage to leave Rajavi’s cult. Arriving in free world he declared his separation from Mujahedin Khalq Organization. The following is his statement:

I’m Homayoon Kohzadi. I entered Iraqi territory in 1996 and wasted 15 years of my life in MKO because I thought I was in the right path but after a few months, I found out that I had made a big Mr. Homayoon Kohzadi could manage to leave Rajavi's cult mistake.

I realized that there was no mark of that democracy and freedom MKO propaganda claimed. I decided to leave the organization. I declared my defection but they didn’t accept. They told me that I had to be imprisoned in MKO prison for two years and then in an Iraqi prison for 8 years. Then Iraqi government would decide for my fate. So I got forced stay in the organization because I knew about the terrible conditions of Iraqi prison, AbuQuraib.

I also tried to leave the group several more times and every time they reacted by holding meetings [of self-criticism] for me.

My departure after 15 years!

You definitely wonder how I could be able to leave. After the fall of Saddam Hussein, Iraqi new government started interviewing MKO members. I used the opportunity to express my willingness for leaving the Camp to the Iraqi official. Fortunately I succeeded to leave the group.

I want to warn others about the trap I was captured in. I want to warn them about false propaganda of MKO. When I arrived in MKO; I thought I could leave it whenever I wanted but in fact nobody dares to say a single word about leaving. If you express your defection, they will mobilize the whole members to insult or even beat you in their so-called meetings. They threaten you with two years of jail in Camp Ashraf and eight years in Abu Quraib … I myself witnessed a lot of examples of such maltreatments.

Today I’m really happy for my life in a free world and I can offer my experiences to those who are at risk of being caught in Rajavi’s trap.

Rajavi’s Cult and the Mirage of Toppling Iranian Government

A mirage is a naturally occurring optical phenomenon in which high rays are bent to produce a displaced image of distant objects or the sky. You may be thirsty wandering in a hot dry desert and then you think you are seeing water in a farther area so you use all your efforts to reach the water but after walking a very long way, you finally figure out that you saw a mirage. This is the exact story of defectors of Rajavi’s Cult.

The MKO members captured in camp Ashraf are shown that mirage every day. They survive with the hope of a better future but sooner or later they realize that all they are told in the group is just like a mirage thus they start thinking of a way to release themselves but they find no way.

Regarding your personality you will realize the truth sooner or later.The mirage world is actually made by Massoud Rajavi and that’s the near overthrow of Islamic Republic. He first used this tactic in 1980. Forces who had joined MKO were mostly honest Idealists who trusted the organization, so they were simply manipulated by Rajavi. They accepted all his analysis and theories. They never hesitated to think about them. However, such mechanism had limits. The more members waited for the overthrow of regime, the less they trusted the leader. So they began doubting the promises of their leader.

The above-mentioned tactic is still used in MKO. Massoud Rajavi still assigns deadline and members are planned to stay hopeful until that mentioned date. The last deadline Massoud Rajavi was speaking of before my defection was October 7th, 2010 when Iraqi new government was supposed to be appointed.

Rajavi was hopeful that Iyad Alavi would be the new Iraqi Prime Minister thinking that he would resolve the group’s complicated situation in Iraq. All MKO activities were focused on that hope. They tried to gain support of foreign politicians for Alavi. No matter how Rajavi’s support for Alavi benefited or harmed Alavi’s fame!

This was the mirage Rajavi painted for members: Alavi would achieve power, Ashraf gates would be open for him, he would come to Ashraf so we would be able to take our arms back and we would restart operations against Iran.

Such a theory succeeded to influence members extensively and removed a lot of tensions in the group.

As usual his last promise didn’t come true. Now he has to think of a new mirage to show his forces in order to maintain them. That is the bitter reality of my life and the lives of Ashraf residents.

Since the argument of "overthrow" seems to be charming to forces, MKO leaders serve all arguments with the Sauce of Overthrow! For example to justify the divorce and marriage of Maryam Rajavi and the so-called Ideological Revolution, public forced divorces of members … they portrayed the mirage of overthrowing the regime so they became able to make long-life slaves out of members.

Today Massoud Rajavi’s old tactic doesn’t work anymore. I ask my ex-comrades not to get in to his trap. I advise them to be courageous, to remove the bars Rajavi put on their minds and to step in free world. I promise you that everything MKO leaders tell you about outside world is pure lie.

Believe me! You will not morph into pigs! You will not be arrested by IRI intelligence agents! You will be capable to decide for your fate!

Abdi talks about his bitter experiences in MKO affairs

Mr. Ali Abdi succeeded to escape Rajavi’s Cult last week. He joined the families who are on strike at Ashraf gates. Sahar Family Foundation interviewed Mr. Abdi who was taken as a war prisoner by Iraqi forces in 1985 when he was a service-man of Iranian army. In 1988 he was recruited by MKO agent, Mehdi Abrishamchi . Since he was sick and tired of hard life in Iraqi prisons, he was deceived by MKO’s propaganda and entered Camp Ashraf.

Two years ago, Mr. Abdi had declared his defection to the group leaders and had insisted on his departure for the last ten months but the cult leaders had told him:

"since families are at Ashraf gates now, your departure signifies a red line. You are not a Mujahed anymore and not a member of the organization but you have to be present in our relations and attend our gatherings. The situation is not appropriate now because of Iraqi election. If we send you out right now, your name will be used as a political trump against us."

Ali Abdi notified for SFF, "families presence at Ashraf gates has enormously impressed members but the group heads have completely blocked any runaway way."

He also clarified the true atmosphere in the cult of Rajavi;

"There is a logic in MKO and that is the entire world is limited to Camp Ashraf which has been created by Massoud Rajavi. In fact, there is an outside reality that Ashraf captives should be let know."

He described the sever controlling system over the risk of members’ runaway from Camp Ashraf,

"Previously we had no patrolling post in our units, but nowadays ,there are 6 of the most loyal members who always patrol the units and a duty officer supervises them . The members have lost their entire confidence to the group and their minds face a lot of contradictions. They should report their contradictory thoughts every day so the leaders doubt every one and fear their escape. "

About the loudspeakers via which families try to encourage their children to visit them, he says ,

"the sound of loudspeakers have made the group leaders really nervous. They try hard to keep members away from loud speakers. If you seem to be listening to their voice, you will be punished."

Ahmad Jaafari could escape Camp Ashraf

In the afternoon of January 10th, 2011, Mr. Ahmad Jaafari, from Haji Abad , Iran escaped Camp Ashraf where he was captured by Rajavi’s cult for twenty-one years.

Rajavi’s Cult and his self-made prison

When I was released from Rajavi’s prison and found myself in free world, I was still mentally captured by Rajavi’s indoctrinations so all the timeI was challenging myself on the decision I had made. After some time when I saw Iraqis’ warm behavior, I changed my mind that had been manipulated by Rajavi for years.

I figured out that although I was physically released, my mind was still involved with the group's indoctrinations.

MKO leader had always tried to make a terrible enemy out of Iraqi new government. Despite my expectations, they offered me all facilities in the hotel including a cell phone that I had never seen during my 25- year period of membership in MKO. I was shocked just like a caveman from ancient time.

After the so-called Ideological Revolution in the group and the consequent forced divorces, we had to attend brainwashing sessions where members had to report their sexual thoughts. I always wondered why such meetings? I couldn’t solve the contradiction of those meetings where members were deeply involved in sexual thoughts. I often tried not to listen to the others’ reports otherwise I was sexually aroused.

Definitely Rajavi has a particular objective of these meetings. He wants to keep members minds busy in order to distract them from thinking about their main problem (slavery in the cult).

Rajavi had killed the whole emotions I might have felt for my parents. Immediately after my escape, I was not willing to contact my family because I was still mentally captured by the organization’s indoctrinations. I hesitated to ask them for finding my home’s phone number but after the first phone call my heart started defrosting. Affections of my family made me find my human aspect to the extent that now I am much eager to see them helping my mother cope with the entire grieve she tolerated in those years of separation.

When you are in MKO, You are never allowed to write a letter or to make a phone call to your family. If there is any contact, it should be along with the organization’s political or financial benefits. Rajavi wants everything for his own interest. He cites from Lenin that he is able to wear skirt in order to achieve his goals. He actually believes in the logic, "The Ends Justify the Means."

I’m thankful to God for my release from Rajavi’s prison. Now I am able to realize what is really going on in the world. It’s true that Rajavi stole 25 years of my life and now I’m not young anymore but I can use my experience as a guide for those who are still imprisoned behind the bars of Rajavi-made mental prison. I can warn those who are at risk of being manipulated and recruited by the cult.

The fearmongers of MKO always terrify the members of leaving the group . When I was in Camp Ashraf I also thought of committing suicide since I was so frightened from my future either inside or outside the camp.

I was absolutely courageous that I dared to make up my mind to run away.

In brainwashing sessions, Rajavi uses all kinds of tricks and lies to control members. For example he says: "If you leave the organization, you will be morphed into pigs and go to nowhere land then you will disappear!" As an eye- witness who was in MKO for 25 years, I’m ready to present my testimonies in any court.

We were told that Iraqi hotels were centers of corruption but when I entered the hotel I was shocked to see none of those lies came true.

I wondered why Rajavi’s words and thoughts were still occupying my mind. After thinking a lot, I figured out that although I was physically released, my mind was still involved with the group’s indoctrinations. Thus, I tried to break those bars of my mind. By observing more realities, I could manage to face my new life. I don’t let any other person to decide for my fate.

Open letter in solidarity with the Iraqi and Iranian victims of MKO

Open Letter to President Jalal Talabani, Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki and Hoshyar Zebari, Foreign Minister of Iraq on the situation of Mojahedin Khalq (MKO, MEK, NCRI) at Camp Ashraf

On Friday 7 January 2010, a large and peaceful gathering of citizens, Council representatives from the Diyala Province and NGOs from all over Iraq, calling for the removal of foreign terrorist group Mojahedin-e Khalq from their country, came under attack by leading members of the group who used bottles, stones and other implements to try to deter the demonstrators. This did not surprise anyone as the MKO had been issuing threats in its western based media in the days running up to the gathering.
Demonstrators, domestic and foreign reporters and Iraqi security personnel at the gates of Camp New Iraq (formerly Camp Ashraf) were all among those who suffered injuries, with some taken by ambulance to hospitals in Baquba and Baghdad. The MEK’s typically violent response to the demonstrators further exposes the group’s weakness and lack of legitimacy. Several members of the group exhibited self-inflicted head wounds as they followed orders to pretend that Iraqi security forces had attacked them.

Over the past year, the group has come under increasing pressure to allow Iranian families of MEK members who have been encamped outside the MEK’s garrison for eleven months, to meet with their loved ones who, they claim, are being held hostage by the group’s leaders. These families have also suffered attacks and abuse by the MEK leaders. It is clear that many inside the camp are disaffected and have been touched by the presence of their families and want out.

There is clear congruence between the aims of the Iranian families of the hostages and all those Iraqis who have lost loved ones, possessions and land at the hands of the MEK during the regime of Saddam Hussein who supported them. The Iranian families have joined the demonstrators as they see their only hope to see their loved ones is through the dismantlement of the camp and opening the gates of a place in which no marriage or childbirth has taken place for two decades and from which there is no means of contact with the outside world.

A major aim of the demonstrators was to alert international public opinion to the views of ordinary Iraqis toward the continued illegal presence of this foreign terrorist group in their country, and in particular in their Province. They describe the MEK presence as a cancer or a nightmare for their society, and fully support your government’s stance on the MEK. It is important for them that the international community hear their voices.

Unfortunately, many in the West, particularly lawmakers, have relied almost exclusively on the MEK’s duplicitous propaganda campaigns as a source of information about the events at Camp Ashraf. As such, we believe that it would be helpful for your new government to invite independent observers from Western countries to visit the camp in order to see for themselves what is happening there.

But our greatest concern is for the ordinary members who remain trapped inside the camp.
As you are no doubt aware, over five hundred former members of the MEK have been active for many years in Western countries in exposing the MEK’s abuses of their own members. In particular many former members have given first hand testimony of their brutal treatment at the hands of the MKO leaders. As well as daily, systematic violations of human rights, punishments and beatings, some were, in the past, even incarcerated by the MEK in the infamous Abu Ghraib, the political prison of Saddam Hussein.

We are now increasingly aware that MEK leader Massoud Rajavi is denying seriously ill members from accessing life-saving medical treatment because he benefits from the publicity surrounding their deaths which – using lies and misinformation in his western media outlets – he seeks to blame on your government.

With this past record, and with the fresh testimony of recent escapees, we are sure you would agree that there is now urgent need for independent human rights investigators to be given free and unfettered access to check on the situation of every person resident in the camp – that is with no interference by MEK leaders – accompanied by security personnel to ensure their protection.

We applaud the wisdom of the Iraqi people and those leaders who brought the coalition government into existence – despite a great deal of interference by the outside world. We thank you for the humanitarian approach and patience that the Government of Iraq has shown in dealing with this unwelcome issue. While it was incumbent on the occupying American forces to resolve this problem many years ago, they unfortunately neglected this duty and it has been left on your hands.

As the people of Iran and Iraq are the most affected by the crimes against humanity and war crimes committed by Massoud Rajavi and his wife and lieutenant Maryam Rajavi, it is very difficult to see how they can be pardoned in these countries (considering the social problems which come with bloodshed). Therefore it is only fair to ask Europe and America, where we have witnessed extensive favours toward the group, to take and house the remaining aging people trapped in this camp.
