Iraq begins top MKO members’ arrest

Iraq’s Supreme Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for MKO leaders Masoud Rajavi and Maryam Rajavi.

Iraq has begun an operation to arrest 38 members of the terrorist Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO) and hand them over to judiciary officials.

"We have received a letter from Iraq’s Supreme Criminal Court which contains the names of 38 senior members of the MKO," Fars News Agency quoted Iraqi Deputy Interior Minister Ayden Khalid Qader as saying on Sunday.

The letter has called on the Interior Ministry to begin an immediate operation to arrest the criminals and hand them over to the judiciary, he added.

Earlier in July, Iraq’s Supreme Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for the leaders of the terrorist Mujahedin Khalq Organization, including Masoud Rajavi and his wife Maryam Rajavi.
The warrants require the Iraqi Interior Ministry and the Interpol to arrest and hand over the wanted figures to Iraq’s Criminal Court.

Founded in the 1960s, the MKO has masterminded a slew of terrorist operations in Iran and Iraq, killing thousands of people and wounding many more.

The group is especially notorious for taking sides with former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein during the 1980-1988 war Iraqi-imposed on Iran.

The Iraq-based MKO is listed as a terrorist group by much of the international community.

Ali Ramadan said that his brother has been held within the organization for a long time. He had been one of the prisoners from the Iran-Iraq war which lasted nearly eight years, adding that the former Iraqi regime had sold those prisoners to the MEK and its leadership, Massoud Rajavi, in order to bring them into the organization and help the Iraqi army in the war against Iran.

Ramadan told Reporters Network that the majority of the members of the MKO are mentally ill and have chronic diseases. He said they were suffering more than 200 medical conditions, while some were diagnosed with cancer.

Another person, Ahmed Khalaf Al-Hajri, from the province of Khuzestan in Iran said he lost touch with his brother 25 years ago while he was then a captive of the Iraqi forces in the era of the war between the two countries in Jalawla north-eastern Iraq. He said, “information reached us that he had been taken to Camp New Iraq, which they called at that time Camp Ashraf, and we did not hear anything more about him. But five years ago he called my mother. At the time, however, he did not speak with them long because he said he was surrounded by Guards and intelligence inside the camp. Al-Hajri added that most of the families within the camp did not enter with consent but have been brought force and in different ways, either by kidnapping or deception at the time of Saddam Hussein’s regime.

Soraya Abdullah was also talking about the kidnapping of her son, who emigrated to Turkey illegally and was then sold to the MKO. She confirmed she has not seen her only son for five years, and says her only son left after the death of his father and she came here to expose the organization because of the actions exercised by them on the population living within the walls, amounting to torture. She refers to the strict prohibition on marriage by the organisation, a law enacted by Massoud Rajavi and Maryam Rajavi. She said she will remain until she meets with her son…

Sheikh Mohammed Jassim Abdul, one of Diyala province tribal leaders, said that Camp Ashraf has around 3400 people…

He said the elders and tribes of Diyala are demanding that the government and parliament work on removing this organization as soon as possible for several reasons, including its past cooperation with the former regime of Saddam Hussein against the Iraqi people.

He considered that the MEK leaders’ rejection of families coming from Iran to see their children who were inside the camp is a violation and breach of human rights law and acts contrary to moral values.

Israel’s Iranian Opposition?

Representatives of Pro-Israili interests rully to promote Mojahedin Khalq terrorists Two days ago, I found it curious to learn of a large rally held in Paris by the People’s Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI, also known as MEK or MKO) by reading the headlines on Ynet and on Ha’aretz. I usually follow Iranian opposition events via various other Iranian websites, where the rally was not mentioned. And while the Israeli press can be counted upon to have nearly daily entries in its hysterical campaign towards a military confrontation with Iran, it still seemed curious to find this rally by a relatively discredited Iranian opposition group featured so prominently on these Israeli websites. But then reading closely the matter was clarified somewhat (from Ha’aretz):
The rally by the PMOI, which Washington considers to be a terrorist organisation, was attended by former US ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton and Jose Maria Aznar, the former prime minister of Spain.
Bolton and Aznar were there to represent a transatlantic coalition of neoconservative pro-Israeli interests who seem to wish to promote the PMOI as the legitimate opposition to Iran’s clerical regime. Bolton’s credentials need no rehearsal here, but let’s not forget that Aznar has recently signed on as a founding member of a European Friends of Israel, in the face of the disastrous repercussions of the Gaza Freedom flotilla raid. The reason for this is fairly clear: on the issues of Israel and on Iran’s nuclear program the current movement is dedicated to promoting an independent policy for the country. While it is likely they would take a very different tone and approach to both issues, the current movement will likely do little to satisfy the interests of the Israel Lobby and neoconservatives for a pro-Israeli and subservient Iran. With the PMOI as the only reasonably well-established alternative, these groups have thrown their lot in with them. If the confrontation with Iran becomes military in nature, it seems likely that the PMOI will be (again) touted by these interests as the “leadership in exile” for any regime-change scenario.
This is not entirely new. During the Bush years, the PMOI sought alliances with the neoconservatives in the US, with a number of bipartisan congressmen acting as intermediaries to call for their removal from the terrorist list, and to advocate for their recognition as a legitimate Iranian opposition group. They are now at it again, with a new move to give legitimacy to the group launched just days ago, with a number of congressmen signed on. In the past, highly-placed neoconservatives such as Richard Perle have attended PMOI-related events and spoke positively of the group. And the group has done much to complement the interests of these allies: they were instrumental in building up the case for Iran’s nuclear program, and have supplied intelligence they claim to have gathered from inside Iran to bolster the case for an arms program — it’s unclear how accurate or legitimate this intelligence may be, but there are certainly shades of the famous WMD intelligence relating to Iraq in all of this.
Among most prominent activists in the Iranian opposition, the PMOI is rarely remembered kindly, when they are bothered to be remembered at all. Already discredited among most Iranians for their alliance with Saddam Hussein during the Iran-Iraq war, and despised by Kurds everywhere for willfully participating in Hussein’s genocidal campaigns against them, the Mojahedin have come to be seen by most Iranians as an embarrassing aberration in the political landscape. While the Islamic Republic has a virulent hostility towards the group, most secular left or reformist Iranians also will have nothing to do with the group and reject its inclusion in any coalitions to oppose the regime. In Europe and the US, during anti-regime demonstrations supporting the current movement, the appearance of PMOI flags or leaflets often led to standoffs and even fights among the demonstrators, with PMOI agents far outnumbered. They now stand all alone in the Iranian scene, with their only true supporters drawn from the Israel Lobby and the margins of US and European politics.
What is so strange is that there they had once acted as the vanguard of revolutionary activity and as a synthesis of leftist and Islamist idealism in the first years of the post-revolutionary period. However, in exile they have been transformed into a political irrelevancy, made worse by their adoption of cult-like policies to maintain discipline in their ranks. The group demands of the rank-and-file a troubling adoration of the figure of Maryam Rajavi, the nominal leader of the group, relying on systems of regular debriefing and self-criticism which are mandatory for all members. Furthermore the group exerts control of many aspects of members’ personal lives, including in matters of marriage, divorce and parenting. Given what they have become, any idea of their resurgence as a valid player in Iranian politics strikes me as one of the most terrifying possibilities for Iran’s future. Their placement on the US terrorism list was clearly a political gesture during Clinton’s administration, but many Iranians find them more troubling for reasons other than the terrorist acts they have carried out.
Rather than hear me describe these, I think it’s better to let the PMOI represent themselves — in videos they have produced. Also, here, and here and here (and you can find many more just by clicking on the related videos or googling the group’s other videos). It baffles the mind that the PMOI are so blind as to how out-of-touch their fascistic aesthetics are with the ideals of Iran’s democratic opposition and their supporters. Check out the videos linked above, produced by the PMOI to publicize "celebrations" and other group events held in their base in Iraq, and tell me if you don’t find a chill creeping down your spine… Echoes of Triumph of the Will, or the Dear Leader…
Bizarrely, the PMOI continues to enjoy support even among some on the US left. The Huffington Post, for example, offers a forum to two of the group’s more active US propagandists, Ali Safavi and Alireza Jafarzadeh. It seems likely that we’ll be hearing more about them once again as the talk of a military confrontation grows. It’s no surprise that the neocons and Israel’s most steadfast supporters are also now openly backing the PMOI.

“The statement by MKI is just an extension of their efforts against all the policies of Iran, whatever they could be”, the Chief for Kurdistan Strategic Studies Centre, Farid Asasard told AKnews, noting that this is not the first time the organization releases such declarations.

Any attempt by this organization to thaw relations with Kurds will be overlooked for they do not enjoy the blessing of Kurds”, Asasard argued, explaining “Because in suppressing the Kurdish uprising, this organization supported the fallen Baathists regime.

This statement cannot wash away their stained vision in the memory of the Kurdish people”, he believed. …

MKI, established in 1965 to topple down the then Shah Regime in Iran, conducted a serious of aggressions against some top Iranian personalities between 1980 to 1990, when it came to be recognized more as a militant sect. It was blacklisted as a terrorist organization by the US and Europe in 2001. However, in 2009 Europe agreed to restore the legitimacy to the organization.

Mojahedin Khalq and Iraq – bribery, intrigue and chaos

The insistence of the Mojahedin-e Khalq of Iran (MEK), which has been based in Camp Ashraf since the 1980s, on staying in Iraq against the wishes of the Government of Iraq and its people has made it an expensive matter.

What casts a black cloud over this organization is the recollection of the Iraqi people. This group, which was hosted by the former regime and its head, the dictator Saddam Hussein during his war with Iran, was used to implement the recommendations of the leaders of the former Iraqi army and the intelligence services. The intelligence of the MEK was used to carry out acts of espionage inside Iranian cities and in Iraqi territory, which according to military experts, often helped the warlords in the planning and execution of military operations in the field. After Saddam and his regime, other governments began to sponsor the Mojahedin, and even today the international community has provided the group with various civilian and military facilities and given them many possibilities, the most important of which is Camp Ashraf. They allow the organization’s leadership and to recruit its members to Iraq in various ways – brainwashing, false promises, kidnapping … and etc.

The MKO has obeyed the needs of the former regime in following its aggressive policy of war with Iran, and also performed killing and destruction against the people of Iraq and Iran, as well as the liquidation and assassination of opponents, which separated them in Europe and America. This was the result of the possibilities furnished by the former regime.

Many questions remain in the minds of the Iraqis and Iraqi public opinion now, after the end of the Iran-Iraq war which claimed the lives of millions of people, followed by uprisings among Iraqis in 1991, in which the MKO played the major role in helping Saddam’s forces (the Republican Guard) and Saddam’s security in suppressing the uprising and causing the deaths of thousands of Iraqis in northern Iraq and to the south. After all these tragic events of the past, and now that the Iraqi people have won their freedom after the fall of the dictator, what is the point of having the MKO in Iraq? What are the reasons for insisting on remaining at Camp Ashraf?

The main question is; what is the benefit for the organization to stay in Iraq now, without the presence of the former regime which protected them? The numerous statements made by the leaders and officials of the Mojahedin Organization directed across the world are a show of power and capability of the Organization in defiance of the Government of Iraq in particular, and the international community in general. The claims of the organization’s leadership, under the title of ‘the security risks facing the Organization and its members’, about the activities of the Iraqi forces and the Committee for Camp Ashraf, after the Iraqi government took responsibility for the camp, are nothing but excuses and lies.

For example, the MKO is using not only its own websites but also undeclared spokespeople like Mahdi Akbaii, to claim that the Iraqi government, after taking over responsibility for the camp [in January 2009], is blocking access to food, fuel and medical to Camp Ashraf in an attempt to kill all the members of the organization.

Studies, reports and research by various organizations and agencies, as well as the confessions of the many separated members of the Mojahedin (Batool Soltani, the youngest Farzin, Davoud Heidari, Ali Khaki, Hamid Reza Soleimani, Farhad Quanlo, Mahmoud Sepahe Humayun Khzadi, Ramadan Saeedi. . etc) reveal the reasons for the group’s determination to stay in Iraq. Camp Ashraf provides a distant, isolated place, which serves to allow it to control the minds of its members. The group also needs troops and a military camp inside the Iraqi border, near Iranian territory in order to implement its hostile plans against Iran. In addition, Camp Ashraf is a show of force and power in Iraq.

But these reasons are not enough for the organization to so desperately try to remain in Camp Ashraf. There is another key reason; the search for another dictator, and an alternative sponsor to allow it to achieve its aims. The search for a replacement for the remnants of the Saddam regime of course led the organisation’s leadership to the coalition countries occupying Iraq as the first alternative. So the idea was that the United States and the U.S.’s allies would fill the void left by the former regime. This was anticipated by the decision of the coalition forces to agree a ceasefire with the forces of the Mojahedin Organization in Iraq and for it to hand over all its weapons and military equipment to U.S. forces and accept the decisions of the U.S. leadership and agree to end any combat and military activity against any local or external party (Studies of the National Institute for Research on National Defense U.S. RAND). This, first and foremost, deceived the leaders of the organization (Maryam Rajavi) because the idea was not met with a positive reception internationally when she asked the United States and the West to work to create a suitable environment and enable the Mojahedin to launch a military attack on Iran, supported by United States forces stationed in Iraq, to take advantage of the differences and poor relations between America and Iran since the seventies.

So the fact remains that the main motivation for the survival of the Mojahedin of Iran in Camp Ashraf, at this stage is that the organization’s leaders only hope is for the return of the ousted regime in Iraq. Or, until they find an alternative for this present situation which will allow it to achieve the plans and aggressive ambitions of the organization against Iran and the creation of a crisis which would spark a new war between Iraq and Iran. This then, is what the organization seeks through its association with elements associated with the Baath party and the former regime in Iraq or terrorist movements and organizations linked to Al Qaeda and others who want to worsen the situation in Iraq and its people. The Mojahedin does its best to support and strengthen these elements in Iraq. This shows that the Mojahedin organization does not want Iraq safer from terrorism, free from intrigue and chaos, and does not want stability for the government and the Iraqi people and does not want a democratic system in Iraq. Because, if this comes about, they will have no future in Iraq. So, they are seeking, in time, to achieve two important plans at the same time. The first is to hold on to Camp Ashraf as a symbol of strength and competence. Then, as alleged, they are following the quest to bring back a fascist dictatorship which will take power in Iraq. This is why the Mojahedin of Iran has taken to embracing all political opponents of the Iraqi government and embracing the extremists and the remnant elements associated with the Baath party and the former regime.

At the same time, the Iraqi government knew very well that Camp Ashraf had changed to provide a safe haven for these groups in the first years after the fall of the former regime. What the Mojahedin organization and its leadership want, is a return to the previous conditions, meaning; conditions before the coalition forces invaded Iraq. So they hope to damage the existing good relations based on mutual respect between the two neighbors, Iraq and Iran in the interest of the Mojahedin. The public policy pursued by the organization’s leadership is currently working using bribery and intrigue to bring about the deterioration of relations between the two countries. The group hopes to weaken democracy in Iraq, and create hostility toward the opening up of Iraqi foreign policy to building international relations and strong and peaceful coexistence with neighboring countries. In this way, the Mojahedin hopes to destroy Iraq’s good relations.

So, the Iranian Organization tries to remain in Camp Ashraf under any pretext in order to be at hand to interfere in the internal affairs of Iraq. But the group’s justification for its presence on Iraqi soil, using international laws does not apply at all according to observers and experts in international law. It attempts to plant the seeds of dissent and intrigue for the return of the previous conditions, and to work on the lack of stability in Iraq, because otherwise, stability is fatal to its goals.

The Iraqi government acting on proof that the Mujahideen Khalq Organization was interfering in Iraqi affairs and attempting to bring back dictatorship, took steps to destroy the hopes the Mojahedin of Iran for achieving its goals in Iraq. The Government of Iraq ordered the closure of Camp Ashraf and directed the Mojahedin to leave Iraq through Ministerial resolution No. (214), on 17/06/2008, which calls for two main objectives: first, that these organizations and others that adopt terrorist ideology, have no place in Iraqi territory, so that Iraq can achieve security, stability and prosperity and, secondly, it is the will of the Iraqis to have their full sovereignty, freedom and independence at home, especially after the inglorious history of these groups against the Iraqi people.

Rajavi’s hypocrisy regarding recognized campaigners of Iran

Whenever possible, Rajavi has sought refuge in historical, popular, and revolutionary figures of Iranian history to justify his anti-national activities during years of his so-called revolutionary struggle. In other words, he misuses the repute of the distinguished Iranian freedom fighters as well as the leaders of social revolutions, particularly in the recent century, like Sattar Khan, Baqir Khan and Modarres to cover up his political scandals. The reputation of these leaders is due to their patriotism and can never be compared to the notorious status of Rajavi in the Iranian history and the mind of the public. He can hardly claim to be truly struggling for the independence and freedom of Iran. Evidently, all leaders of social movements in Iran had fortes and failures yet their actions are highly different from that of Rajavi who is a dishonorable traitor. While the Iranian history has recorded the above mentioned and even non-Iranian freedom fighters as great patriots and heroes, it never forgets those quislings like Rajavi who betrayed their country allied themselves with the invaders against their home country and took the oath of cooperation with the enemies of their nation.

Rajavi is making his utmost attempt to parallel his anti-national activities with those of admirable historical figures of Iran who sacrificed their lives to secure the independence and freedom of their land. Despite the temporary dominance of the invaders in Iran, they never took the path of Rajavi to collaborate with the foreigners under the pretext of freedom fighting. However, the position of Rajavi in the Iranian history is like a stigma evident and it is not clear how he can justify his notorious past record of perfidious deeds, besides his fruitless lobbying with the EU, USA, and France as the opponents of the independence of Iran, that made other associate oppositions ashamed of their alliance with MKO. The fact is that those trying to judge him according to Marxist thought and analyses are intentionally neglecting the real cultic nature of his activities that cannot be analyzed within any framework. The main mistake of these leftist and rightist individuals and groups is that they still judge Rajavi in the framework of a fallible revolutionary, political, and idealist individual in political arena. They aim to hide the real visage of Rajavi under the banner of criticism yet they ignore the fact that Rajavi has never recognized their legitimacy since Rajavi has proved that he does not consent to anything less than being totally submitted to and admired.

Those who insist to put Rajavi among the ten top figures of Iranian history are in fact deriding themselves. How Rajavi dares to parallel himself to these historical figures is due to the fact that his advocates and supporters are not aware of their real position in the Iranian history. While he bears no one but himself as the leader of the Iranian contemporary history, he has to resort to this parallelism for winning legitimacy. However, his position takings are different from his intra-organizational viewpoints on these individuals. For instance, though Rajavi appreciates Mosaddeq as the leader of nationalization of oil industries in Iran, Mosaddeq is described as a man of the bourgeoisie class and a descendant of Qajar, the dynasty previous to Pahlavi, who failed to find a true social path in his life to side with MKO.

Moreover, despite the fact that Rajavi approves the anti-tyrannical and anti-colonial struggles of Mirza Koochak Khan, the distinguished Iranian leader of the Jungle Movement, and claims himself as his follower, he had no qualms about calling him a reactionary and backward-looking person whenever he came to analyze his movement for the insiders. Also in regard to Modarres, although Rajavi highly esteems him in out of the organization relations, yet he criticizes him as a dogmatist who stood against republicanism as a barrier to hinder Iran’s historical and economic progress toward Socialism originated revolution. Likewise, almost all historical figures have the same typical duality for Rajavi. On the one hand, he admires their activities for the sake of demagogy and on the other hand, they are accused and criticized in the intra-organizational analyses of MKO. This may clarify the depth of the insincerity and fraudulency of Masoud Rajavi in misusing historical figures. The ideological subordinates of Rajavi who have deified him have no other choice but to follow him blindly in his hypocrisy.

The Reality of National Council of Resistance

The establishment of National Council of Resistance aka NCR/NCRI in 1981, in France by five Iranian Opposition groups was part of the consequences of Islamic Revolution in 1979 when some individuals and groups broke out with the regime founded by Ayatollah Khomeini.

The main objective of such a council of which the biggest member was Mujahedin Khalq Organization, was to achieve political power in Iran. The agenda of the primary members was to propagandize their so-called council as the "only alternative" to the regime of Tehran, although Abul Hassan BaniSadr had left it because of MKO’s relations with the fighting enemy against Iran: Iraq.

The other opposition groups who were members of NCR also defected from the council since they saw the principal axis they had based their coalition on was being violated by MKO whose leader, Massoud Rajavi was taking the most undemocratic steps against his own nation by cooperating with Iraqi Baath regime. On the other hand, a more important factor of NCR’s decline was that MEK was not playing the role of an ally but it was considering itself as the main element of the council. So Rajavi tried to spread his hegemony on the other members of the council (who were from various political movements or ideologies) and his reactionary ideology which was not based on democracy.

National Council of Resistance, under the leadership of Massoud Rajavi became a destructive political power which disappointed those who were once deceived by its founders.
After the extensive process of defection from NCR, those who stayed was just some trivial figures [who were mostly burned cards of regime of Shah) and their mission was to run MEK’s medieval ideology. Thus MEK could never ally with democratic, progressive movements. That might explain that the only objective they founded NCR for was to create an instrument to achieve its goal that was reaching political power in Iran based on a cult of personality.

Since then NCRI has become a puppet of MEK that has been determined to overthrow Islamic Republic in six month! (For thirty years on)

Reality Check: MKO Suppressive Pearl Operation

[MKO’s extensive propaganda campaign for spreading faked information about the true nature of its terrorist destructive cult had set for a new purification project in order to remove dirty stains of terrorist activities and atrocities of their cult from the historical memory of public opinion. To achieve such an unlikely goal, Ali safavi, the group’s henchman, does too much effort to write a series of posts denying the crimes committed by his organization.
Nejat Society, in turn, views it as essential to enlighten the minds about the claims made by MKO remnants.]

Among the long list of Mujahedin Khalq Organization’s terrorist activities, one may find Iraqi Kurd’s suppression by MKO due to its absolute obedience to its former financial and military sponsor Saddam Hussein.

In his serial postings ,Rajavi’s remnant, Ali Safavi has tried hard to deny MKO’s role in suppressing Iraqi Kurds’ uprising in 1991 and in order to cover their crimes against Kurds, Mujahedin claimed that they repelled the attack of Iranian forces to their bases and called the alleged anti-attack, ”Pearl Operation”.
Mr. Alimardan, the head of Workers’ Union in Iraqi province of Kirkuk said:” I and my family are the victims of MKO’s terrorist activities.”
Pearl (Morvarid in persain) is the name of a chain of mountains in the border of Iranian Kermanshah province and Kurdistan of Iraq, where the massacre of Kurds took place.
In 1991, there was the risk from the side of Iraqi opponents to Baath regime: Kurds in the North and Shiites in the South. The only force to oppose the oppositions in that region was MKO who was present in the absence of Saddam Hussein’s forces. MEK leaders knew that falling of Saddam Hussein; their main financial and logistic sponsor equals Rajavi’s removal. Through a radio message, Saddam Hussein asked the people in Northern areas to cooperate with Rajavi’s forces as well as Baath army and their disobedience would lead them to death. [1]

Rajavi in his turn promised Saddam that his group would fight the Kurds with their entire power. Then, through a message he declared:”Iranian soldiers, in Kurds clothes, are supposed to attack Mujahedin“ But when the members started to hesitate he stated:”IRI’s Pasdaran and YKT’s have allied to attack Mujahedin.[2]

In addition to various testimonies made by former members of the cult, Iraqi authorities, moved by their hatred towards MKO as Saddam Hussein’s mercenary force, have repeatedly asked for their expulsion from Iraqi territory. Mohammad Tofiq Rahim, an official of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan told Radio Liberty that his organization has documented evidence of Rajavi’s role [in suppression of Kurds]. He said that when the Kurds seized control of Northern region of Iraq with US assistance at the end of Gulf War in 1991, MEK cooperated with Iraqi army in retaking control of the city Kirkuk. Hundreds of the city’s residents were killed by MEK. “Every one in Iraqi Kurdistan knows that Massoud Rajavi cooperated with Mukhaberat [Intelligence Ministry ] and security forces of the regime of Saddam”, Rahim said .[3]

Mohammad Javad Al-Dorkhi, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Belgium and the European Union, clarifies that new Iraq has inherited a heavy legacy from the former dictatorship, which not only suppressed and crushed the Iraqi people and made hundreds of mass graves launched wars and invasions but left on the ground in Iraq a camp inhabited by a group of terrorists, mercenaries , who make up the military wing of MKO terrorists who were allied with the former regime and participated with his security forces in the brutal suppression and liquidation of Iraqi, Arabs and Kurds, during the popular uprising in 1991 after the failure of Saddam’s invasion of Kuwait.[4]

Ali Safavi pretended to have a huge support for MKO among Iraqi authorities and juridical officials; Once again he tries to accelerate his propaganda machine claiming to enjoy the support of thousands of Iraqi lawyers. The truth is that in September 2009 Iraq’s Supreme criminal court assigned to review crimes done by the former Iraqi Baath regime during the 1991 uprising and announced that it has received 5000 complaints filed against the regime and anti-Iran terrorist group, Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO).[5]

MEK’s vain effort to purify their dark history leads Ali Safavi to the claim that “it had never harbored the slightest bit of hostility toward Iraqi Kurds”.[6] As Al-Dorkhi states :” the Iraqi people are familiar with the strong relationship between MKO and the elements of the former regime and the coalition between them and the fateful military support and material submitted to it by the former system and they will never forget the blood of Iraqi children bas been lost at the hands of these terrorists and now the Iraqis insist on their right to bring them to trial and justice.[7]

There are many living eye-witnesses among Iraqi Kurds. Mr. Alimardan, the head of Workers’ Union in Iraqi province of Kirkuk said:” I and my family are the victims of MKO’s terrorist activities.” offering his sympathy for other victims of MKO, he expressed his hatred for these terrorists and Saddam Hussein. ”they committed numerous crimes against Iraqis so that many in Northern and Southern Iraq were killed and wounded by this group,” he said.[8]

In a meeting with Habilian Association, Iraqi tribal Sheikhs from Bagdad, Maysan and Babil insisted that “MKO’s propaganda that they are supported by Iraqi tribal leaders is totally a lie.”Sheikh Abu-hussein Ghadhban told Habilian that “Saddam Hussein used the group intentionally to suppress Iraqi nation”.[9]

Ali Safavi’s disinformation on Jalal Talebani, President of Iraq is the outcome of MKO’s declining situation in Iraq. He tried to demonize Jalal Talebani using faked allegations, since he knows that as the first official of Iraqi government Jalal Talebani is determined to expel MKO from Iraqi soil. “According to the Iraqi Constitution there is no place for terrorist groups in Iraq” Talebani said.[10]in fact one of the major pressure on the United States to round up the MEK[in 2003] and put them in a camp did not come from Iran; it came from Jalal Talebani [11]

According to Qobad Talebani,son of Jalal Talebani “Up until the fall of the regime, they [MEK] were part of and parcel of Iraqi military . And they were heavily involved in suppressing the Kurdish uprising of 1991.”[12]

Ordered by Saddam and carried out by Massoud Rajavi, the role of MEK in repressing the Kurdish revolt must have created serious problems within the organization. Many members have Kurdish roots. In addition, the PMOI clashed with Kurdish groups within the Iranian opposition, leading to more defectors and the further isolation of Massoud Rajavi.[13]

And finally the large-scale support for MEK by former Iraqi dictatorship for two decades only leaves a bad fame for these terrorists and proves that MKO is really a terrorist organization. The US Department of State boosts its credibility by labeling MEK as a foreign terrorist organization based on credible evidences.

MKO: People’s Friends or Foes

MKO’s terrorist cult published the news of Maryam Rajavi’s trip to Germany. Their website wrote:

Maryam Rajavi’s trip to Germany indicates Europeans double standards towards terrorist and violent groups. They endanger the security of their own countries by playing an illogic game with such groups. According to political principals and EU laws, any group or entity with a background of terrorist, violent acts against civilians should be boycotted for much political financial or spiritual support. However, the public opinion notice Mrs. Rajavi, the leader of one of The self-assigned president of NCR encourages Western powers to stop seeking diplomatic solutions and negotiations with Iran the most horrifying violent groups, traveling in Europe, visiting politic men of the so-called developed democratic countries, defending the activities and violent strategy of her cult of personality.

She asked German authorities to support her terrorist destructive cult and criticized them because they had already failed to support her group.

European politic men may not have enough information on the three-decade activities of MKO cult as an armed group that launched large-scale violent attacks against innocent civilians and assassinated thousands of people due to its ill-minded hatred towards humanity.

German authorities who met with Maryam Rajavi might have had no knowledge of MKO’s spying and mercenary role for Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein as a strategic ally for the most inhuman regime through the history.

A question is, how can Maryam Rajavi claim to be a patriotic Iranian while she takes such a position against her own nation? While she speaks of weakening Iranian power just like the designer of Imperialism Henry Kissinger?!

Kissinger was the one who planned the massacre of people of Vietnam. According to a BBC report, he remarks on the west policy towards Iran:”You should not let Iran to fulfill its dream for the establishment of its empire in the region.” He does not respond to those who asked him to apologize for the atrocities he committed in Vietnam.

Maryam Rajavi calls the world to impose more sanctions against Iran … . The self-assigned president of NCR encourages Western powers to stop seeking diplomatic solutions and negotiations with Iran, instead she persuades them to impose more punishments against Iran.

The experienced American politic man Henry Kissinger, in his interview with German Eshpigel news agency, confessed that “the benefits to America and the West no more necessitate them to keep Iran’s sovereignty on its territory. A disintegrated Iran is better than a powerful, great Iran.”

The boundaries between illusion and reality should be enlightened for Mrs. Rajavi. The leaders of Mujahedin Khalq should make it clear if they are friends or foes of Iranian people.

Iraqi Authorities' stance on the MEK

Officials: Exclusion of Al-Mutlaq a blow to MKO and terrorism

According to officials in Diyala province, the Justice and Accountability Committee’s exclusion of Saleh al-Mutlaq from the elections has dealt a severe blow to terrorism and the Mojahedin Khalq Organization of Iran. Saleh al-Mutlaq is considered as the supporter and funder of the terrorist Mojahedin-e Khalq in Diyala, who have been involved with the Saddam regime in the genocide of the opponents of the repressive Baath Party. The Director of the Association for Former Political Prisoners in Diyala under Saddam’s regime, Yousef Jassem al-Sadiq, said Iraq is our home and “the exclusion of al-Mutlaq is a cause for great joy for political prisoners in Diyala and represents the victory of the people and is a severe blow to al Qaeda and the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization”.

The District Commissioner of Khalis, Uday Adnan Alkhaddran, said, the decision to ban MP Saleh al-Mutlaq from participating in the elections is the latest big blow to the Mojahedin-e Khalq, adding that this will deprive it of one of its most prominent political allies in Iraq and the decision is considered a victory of the Iraqi people’s will.

Alkhaddran added that “al-Mutlaq is a strategic ally of the Mojahedin-e Khalq, who are terrorists, and is supportive of all armed organizations that are working to kill Iraqis. He demanded that the central government speed up the removal of the Organization beyond the borders of the country as a popular demand of the people of the province.
